What owners report
I purchased a new 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit equipped with the new 2.0L Hurricane 4 Turbo. The vehicle has a repeatable and potentially dangerous accelerator-response problem. From a complete stop, I can apply substantial/full accelerator input and the vehicle initially provides little or no expected acceleration. The vehicle may begin creeping forward and the tachometer may begin moving, but there is little corresponding engine sound or vehicle acceleration. After approximately two seconds, the vehicle begins responding and accelerating however it is still extremely sluggish and dangerous. The condition has been repeatedly reproduced in both Normal and Sport modes. I have also experienced delayed RPM increase and delayed transmission response/downshift while already moving. …
The contact owns a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The contact was informed that an over-the-air software reset was performed. In addition, the contact stated that the unknown over-the-air software reset caused issues with the vehicle. The contact was informed that the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. In addition, the contact stated that the failure reoccurred three additional times. The contact stated that the unknown over-the-air software reset was performed in September 2025. The contact later received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System) and 25V766000 (Engine); however, the parts were not yet available. …
I was driving within a city and came to a red light. Since my car is a hybrid (2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, also I just purchased this lease in April 2025) the car will switch to the EV battery when I come to a halt and when I propel forward the car will either remain on the EV battery (if the battery has mile range) or it will switch to the engine. As the light turned green and i pushed the pedal to move forward, my car began to move forward using the EV battery but when the car attempted to switch to the engine, it tripped and my car would not move forward at all (this all occurred in the middle of traffic). I attempted to restart my car and my car would turn on but my engine would not start / my dash kept instructing to push the brake and hit the start button / also my dash displayed both engine and battery light / i was unable to shift my gears in any position. …
On 11/1/2025 my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe lost propulsion in a middle of a left turn do to a recall that was sent to me 4 days prior. The jeep completely stopped and caused another person to rear end me. The recall has since been fixed but my damages have not yet been fixed. I was in an accident due to this Jeep recall and I now have damage to my vehicle and a ticket from the police for stopping in the middle of an intersection. I opened a case with jeep customer care 2 weeks ago and haven't since received ANY update. I need assistance because nobody is taking accountability or fixing anything.
I was traveling on a highway at 65MPH in Hybrid mode. The car displayed a Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System Warning Message along with several other system failure messages in rapid succession. The battery failure icon was also on. The car lost all power and started slowing down. Luckily traffic was light and I was able to reach a point to where I was able to move to a spot on the roadside. I stopped the car and it automatically went into park and would not move out of park. After several tries I was able to start the vehicle in esave mode and it was running on the ICE. All of the errors cleared. I was able to proceed to a side road and eventually make it home. I took it to my local dealer the next day and a read of the code was a B273C indicating digital crash detection. The service manager said this is a known problem and they are waiting for a fix. …
The engine would randomly accelerate , rev and make a whining noise, slip into neutral and I would have to pull over and shut it off sometimes in an unsafe area. Occasionally when I would start the engine it would rev as though I had my foot on the gas and I would shut it back off. I was traveling on the highway approximately 70 mph and cancelled the cruise control to go around a curve and pressed on the gas to merge into 70 mph traffic on another highway, and nothing happened. When I got to the end of the ramp the car was going 32 mph with my foot to the floor on the gas panic stricken. Suddenly the gas engaged and I shot into the traffic trying to avoid me. I took the car home, parked it in the garage and called a local dealership for service explaining the problems I was having. I went to resume my trip in a friends car because I was frightened to drive mine. …
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated. Additionally, while driving at slower speeds, the braking system independently engaged, and the vehicle came to a complete stop. The "Service Hybrid System" warning light illuminated. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed; however, the diagnostic result was not provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 18,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 MPH around a roundabout, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal before the vehicle stalled. Several unknown warning lights illuminated with an abnormal beeping sound coming from the vehicle. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road. The contact waited for a while and was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that an air bag sensor might have caused the failure. An unknown part was replaced. The contact stated that the message "Service Hybrid Electric System" was continuously displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer; however, no cause for the failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. …
