Bought my jeep in July. On 6 different occasions now it starts vibrating really bad. I can't get it to stop, can't steer it. I've heard of the death wobble and I'm pretty sure this is what's happening. I have an appointment Tuesday August 24 to put a new stabilizer on it. Has there been a recall on my jeep that wasn't fixed properly. It's a dangerous situation when it happens because I have no control over my vehicle at all. I've been lucky so far that it's happened in places that there were no other vehicles in front of me. There's no way I could stop if there was. I have no way of knowing if the stabilizer will fix the problem.
when i drive the vehicle, i goes into this shaky mode where i have to completely stop the car and restart it. this happens if i hit any kind of bump. I brake every bump that i see hoping it will stop but today is got so bad i could not move. Also the braking for driving down a curvy mountain. I almost got in multiple accidents this week
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. While driving at 10 MPH, the brakes failed without warning as a result, the contact collided with another vehicle. No injuries occurred and a police report was not filed. A few weeks later, while driving at 20 MPH and approaching a red light, the brake system failed again without warning. On one occasion, the contact collided with the vehicle in front of her and experienced front end damage. The air bags did not deploy upon collision. No injuries were sustained by either driver, no medical attention was needed. A police report was filed which stated that the failure was due to a defective brake line which caused brake failure. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. …
On Monday October 16, 2017 I started my Jeep to leave for work. As I backed out of my parking space at my apartment and felt the brake pedal go to the floor. I almost hit a nearby car but was able to pull the car into an opposite parking space and the curb helped me stop the car. I had been driving the car the day before without any indication of a problem. I was able to have the car towed to a nearby repair center. The mechanic called me to explain that the brake cable had corroded and that this was the second older Jeep that he had seen with this problem. He suggested that I notify you to report this issue. I'm counting my blessings that this happened in my parking lot and not a few minutes later when I would have been traveling on the interstate at 70 MPH. The total cost of my repair was $446 because the brake system has been redesigned according to the mechanic. …
My name is [redacted]. I run a repair shop called glen allen service center. We have had 3 Jeep wranglers (2007, 2007, and 2008) that have needed brake hose replacement in the last 4 months. The first one we noticed the hose was swollen where a rubber cover is made over the steel line crimp at the frame and the brake caliper. We advised the customer to replace it which he did. The other two were towed in with complete brake system failure (brake pedal to the floor). Chrysler has redesigned the hoses but there has been no recall issued. Both Chrysler dealers parts departments I deal with seem to not know about this. There should be a recall ordered as this is a serious safety issue. You can reach me at [redacted] if you have any questions. Thank you for your time.
The right front brake hose between the frame mount and the connecting point on the brake cylinder, blew out at the snap connection end. This resulted in complete loss of all hydraulic braking ability. The cause of the breakage was due to the brake hose rubbing against the inner tire wall whenever the tires were turned to the full stop position of left or right direction. Both ( right and left ) break hoses rub the inside of the tires. Had I been driving at the time, there is no doubt that an accident would have occurred possibly causing injury or even death to people. As it was, the line blew when I stepped on the brake to shift into gear. I was in a parking lot. I do have pictures available plus the damaged part for review.
Tl contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler 4x4. While driving 45 MPH, the contact lost control of the vehicle and it shifted from left to right. He drove into a ditch, but was able to drive to his residence at 5 MPH. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and they stated that the front differential bracket failed. The dealer would not repair the vehicle because it had a tire modification. The ESP sensor was reprogrammed three times, but the brakes continued to lock. The manufacturer advised the contact to take the vehicle to another dealer to have the front differential bracket replaced under warranty. The current mileage was 21,000 and failure mileage was 16.
