Two fault codes were found the dealer (papa Dodge) replaced EGR and gasket valve. I called the dealer about 10 days later and told them the car still did not have power when pressing the gas peddle. The supervisor of the service department took Jeep for test drive and said he didn't see a problem. On December 25 engine light came on. On December 26 I was driving about 5 miles per hour and saw smoke came to completed stop. Under the car front in the front under hood was on fire passenger side. The throttle control randomly goes out, while it is easy to reset the sensor, so the vehicle remains driveable, it is dangerous to be driving on the highway or crossing the highway with children in the car and the car goes into limp mode. I was turning on the highway where people are doing 60mph and suddenly mid turn the car goes into limp mode and doesn't want to move while cars come speeding at you.

I have a 2007 Jeep sahara jk four door. Traveling westbound on the 10 freeway in pamona, ca in the car pool lane with cruise control on going about 70mph. I had been traveling this way for about 20 minutes going straight ahead. The engine appeared to stall. The speedometer went to zero even though I wascoasting. The RPM read about 800. I keep pumping the gas pedal, every once in a while I would get a spurt of speed but had an overall reduction of speed. I had to navigate over double yellow lines, between semi's to get to the shoulder. After stopping I turned the key off then on again. It started right up and I continued the rest of the 150 miles. The dash displayed two icons. One was the ESP symbol and the other was a red lighting bolt in between two vertical red lines. I called the dealer, shaver Jeep, in san bernardino. The service guy said this wasn't uncommon. …

My Jeep Wrangler (2dr, 4x4) was in the parking lot at work. When I started it and moved the gear shift from park to drive, the vehicle suddenly accelerated violently. Within 2 seconds, I was slamming into the vehicle in front of me. By then I was jamming on the brakes again, but my car still felt like it was increasing in speed--throttle wide open! When I hit the car in front of me, my Jeep pushed it about 15 feet up over a curb til it finally hit another car and stopped. Its back tires were about 10 inches deep into the dirt and jammed up against another vehicle. My Jeep was still going, and climbed up across his hood and over to the other side, coming to rest upright. My Jeep left tire marks on the pavement as I tried to stop it. The car I hit, a 2009 Volkswagen, was destroyed--totaled. Over $20,000 damage on that car alone. There was over $7000 damage to my Jeep. …

My Jeep Wrangler 2007 shakes so violently that I can no longer drive it. I am afraid that I May kill someone or my self or my kid. It is the scariest thing ever. At three (3) different occasions I almost crash. I heard so many Jeep owners have the same problem, so why Chrysler are not doing something about this serious problem? They tried to tell me its front end or a tire issue. I have changed my steering damper, my stabilizer bar and bushings. Had it aligned and bought new tires and balance. Problem still exist. The vehicle has been towed back to the dealer as of this morning. And they are trying to stick me with a bill for any repairs done to rectify this wobbling issue. I do not think that I, the consumer should have to pay anything for this manufacture defect. …

While driving at roughly 70 MPH on highway throttle felt a little weird then the rpms dropped to zero as the electronic throttle control light on the dash came on. Immediately headed for the shoulder as I lost power steering and power braking although the electronic steering/braking system was alerted during my swerve towards the shoulder. The vehicle was very unresponsive. Upon reaching the shoulder the vehicle stalled. Turned off the vehicle, and then restarted it and cautiously returned home. Consulted the manual and it appeared that such events were expected and considered normal if the electronic throttle control light did not returned upon restarting the vehicle. The vehicle has shown signs of repeating this trouble and during those times I have let off the throttle, down shifted and then shifted up again in hopes that whatever glitch was occurring would be reset. …
