Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the class 3 trailer hitch underneath the vehicle detached while driving 20 MPH. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and used ratchet straps to support the bottom portion of the hitch to resume driving. The class 3 hitch was not replaced. The salesperson where the product was purchased called the manufacturer on the contact's behalf and was informed that the class 3 hitch was out of one year warranty. The manufacturer could only offer a percentage off of another purchase. In addition, the manufacturer informed the salesperson that the hitch was part of the bumper; therefore, the one hitch applied to both. The approximate failure mileage was 73,000.

In July of 2008 I experienced what Jeep owners are calling "the death wobble" in my 2007 Wrangler. While passing a car I hit a small bump in the road and my whole front end of my Jeep began to shake violently and I was unable to control the vehicle. The Jeep was brought into the dealership where they replaced the steering damper(covered under warranty). On feb 9th 2009 while driving south on the garden state parkway at approximately 65 to 70 MPH I again hit a small bump and the Jeep began to shake violently and I could not control the vehicle. I took the vehicle out of gear and came to a slow stop. Then I noticed a state trooper behind me. When I finally managed to get to the shoulder he exited his vehicle and approach my drivers side window and asked if I was OK and stated that he never had seen a vehicle ever act like that, that he thought the wheels were going to fall off. …

As I was driving on a highway the front end of my 2007 Jeep Wrangler started shaking violently. I had to pull over on the side of a highway in order to get it to stop shaking, which I was very thankful that the traffic wasn't bad and I was able to pull over. This as known as the Jeep death wobble. It has now done it 5 times, 3 of which were after the dealership said they fixed it. The first time they put a new damper on it. Now it is in the shop again after that didn't work and they are putting new tires on it. After reading multiple complaints online, it is apparent to me that new tires are not going to fix the problem. Every time your front end shakes violently like that, the chances of damaging componants further increases. My research has also shown me that many, many people have had this happen to them and they have had trouble getting anyone to step up and fix the problem. …

While driving at roughly 70 MPH on highway throttle felt a little weird then the rpms dropped to zero as the electronic throttle control light on the dash came on. Immediately headed for the shoulder as I lost power steering and power braking although the electronic steering/braking system was alerted during my swerve towards the shoulder. The vehicle was very unresponsive. Upon reaching the shoulder the vehicle stalled. Turned off the vehicle, and then restarted it and cautiously returned home. Consulted the manual and it appeared that such events were expected and considered normal if the electronic throttle control light did not returned upon restarting the vehicle. The vehicle has shown signs of repeating this trouble and during those times I have let off the throttle, down shifted and then shifted up again in hopes that whatever glitch was occurring would be reset. …

When driving on the highway between 50 and 65 MPH and hitting a slight bump or divet in the road Jeep Wrangler jk begins to violently shake uncontrollably until I am forced to pull over onto the shoulder and bring it under 30mph. It happens at least once every other day, but occurred four times today alone. At the present time I have had it to three different mechanics where the alignment has been checked four times, the tires have been rotated and rotated back, a new steering stabilizer has been installed along with a new bushing, new track bar and new ball joint.

2007 Jeep Wrangler "x" -- drive down the highway at 50mph, hit a bump and the entire front of the vehicle shakes violently and won't stop until you slow down to about 10mph. This has occurred a number of times. It is on its second visit to the dealer on this issue, I did web searches on the issue and saw numerous comments of the "death wobble" I firmly believe I experienced what I see on the web. I would return the vehicle and ask for my money back.... This isn't a laughing issue. Chrysler must have a permanant fix for such an issue or the public is at risk.
