Front axle snapped. Power steering rack faulty. Leaks all fluids other than oil! Tire stud snapped sent me into a ditch. Transmission has been rough and leaking and only 160k miles. Manual says no need to warm up car as it's got a magic part. Well transmission is blown after following manual to the T on matinece and operation. My family is a ford family! Minus one after this 08 edge can't believe they are allowed on the road. Help!!!!
Sometimes the transmission will not drive the car after a stop or if changing from drive to reverse or reverse to drive. RPM will go very high and only move the car very slowly. At other times there will be a bad shift or a strange sound. This can happen any time, when first starting out for the day, after running for a time, after a long drive or after stopping for a turn, red light, stop sign or just slowing down. The dealer says there is nothing wrong. Also noise coming from the rear while in motion. I believe the sensors are intermittent as I had a similar problem with my Dodge caravan which went away after I replaced the sensors myself because the repair station told me there was nothing wrong after 3 attempts to have the problem rectified. You are all supposed to be professional experts so fix the problem.
About 3 months ago the drivers side front door ajar light was staying on and would not go away even the door was closed. We have been all kinds of other problems related to this problem such as door chimes going off randomly all the time the dome lights will not turn off when car is parked and shut off. The noise and lights are a major distraction. The other problem we have experienced with the vehicle but have had fixed is the two rear wheel bearings have been replaced. The first when the vehicle had only 36,000 plus or minus a thousand or two and the other when we only had 60,000 miles on vehicle. This is expensive and should not go bad in that short of time. We do not pull anything with the vehicle or drive it rough.
I am having an issue with my wheel bearing and there is a recall 270760 and my VIN # was not on the list. My car was running perfectly fine and then when I got new tires, they told me that my wheel bearings were weak. In the beginning, before I got my tires, the car started vibrating and grinding. When I took it to the auto repair to look at it, they told me that it May be the tires, which I did needed to replace. So I did. The sound did not go away. Finally, they did more checking and told me about the recall and that I needed to take to the Ford dealership to get it fixed. I called the Ford dealership and they refused to do the work. I was driving down the road and the truck lost all power. The only choice I had was to steer the wheel to a safe position on the side of the road. When the happened the doors were locked windows were closed shut I was almost unable to get of the truck safely. Also I was driving down the road after get a new set of tires and the truck began to make a scrubbing sound as if the wheels was grinding against something nothing was there. I remember a recall on the wheel hub and I have had the truck for about 2 years and I don't recall getting the problem repaired but my VIN returns back no active recalls and I can not help but wonder if there is an error.

1. Rear wheel bearings hub assembly , failures.. Right failed at nearly 58K miles. Of course after warranty ! Left failed at nearly 73K miles. Howling sound being produced. It is costing lot of money to replace these parts. Not good. I have never had a car in the last 40 years where the wheel bearing assemblies have failed. Defective parts Ford is aware of this problem, since they have issued a tech ser.. Bulletin on 2/5/10. While driving my 2008 Ford Edge, a roaring type noise comes from the rear of the unit. As you accelerate to noise grows in volume. At first it appeared to me as "road noise" I changed pressures in the tires and rotated the front to the rear. Nothing changes. After researching the problem, it appears that it is the rear wheel bearings. According to Ford the bearing hub and the rear suspension trailing arm/knuckle assembly must also be changed on the affected side. The trailing arm causes to much pressure on the bearings and wipes them out. Also the wheels have to be re-aligned due to the installation of the new trailing arm. Ford states that just changing only the bearing hub will cause the problem to happen again. …
