Both Chrysler and the dealership knew that the computer module was defective and went out of their way to keep this information from us leaving our entire family and the general public in danger. Our insurance company had us take the car to a nuetral 3rd party to determine that the wreck I had was caused by the car self acceleration. They confirmed it did and that there were numerous errors that were never addressed or warned of. The tire pressure gauge malfunctioned and blew out the rear passenger tire. Both troncalli (the dealership) & Chrysler refused to give us their findings claiming proprietary information and hung up on us. Then we tried to go through mediation, we were told that because the car was involved in a wreck they could not help us even though they knew that the wreck was caused by the malfunction. …
I was driving up hill in the city of muscatine and my automobile started roaring and accelerating near a stop sign and I could not get the auto to stop. I ended up hitting a curb and crashed into two trees and was knocked unconscious. The airbags in the front and the side did not deploy. Both sides of the car were impacted and the front also. The car was still roaring when emergency personal arrived to assist me. This caused me to have seizures and was taken to emergency room and admitted to hospital. The ups driver heard the car roaring and me crashing into the trees.
On September 2018 while driving on the highway my 2013 Chrysler Town and Country started stalling notice that it was losing power I barely made it home when I try to open side doors notice that none of the power side doors wouldn't open they were stuck we can't open the doors and once we turned off the van it wouldn't start we thought it was the battery so we got a new one, but the battery wasn't the problem. Because when we connected the battery it turned on but once again we shut down the engine it wouldn't start again... We notice it started making a noise and losing power and the engine shut down and it wouldn't start again so we decided to disconnecting the battery so we can see if it would turn on the next day and it but so that it what we have to do everytime we would go somewhere. …
My vehicle started shutting off while parked it would shut complety down as if the batter had been disconnected, but it would always restart and I would have to reset my radio clock. After about a week of this happening, it began to have trouble starting. It would turn and turn like a vehicle out of gas. Eventually it would start at some point after I stopped trying and let it sit for awhile. My vehicle then shut down twice while driving at about 45 miles and hour, but it started up. I took it to pep boys to get diagnostic testing and was told the tpim module is going bad and this would cost over $1400 to repair. I was totally shocked by how many complaints I have read online about the Town and Country as well as other chryslers and dodges having this problem, but more shocked at the fact that this problem isn't being recalled in the Town and Country. …
The blind spot detection system has failed. Sensors in the rear bumper have failed causing the system to be inoperable. I have seen several similar complaints with the NHTSA for this vehicle filed under electrical, unknown and other. This safety feature failed at just over 50K miles on this vehicle. This failure occurred while the vehicle was in operation in light traffic on a city street. The service blind spot system message displayed on the dash where the speed of the vehicle is normally displayed and yellow warning lights appeared in each rear view mirror. Priced the parts at approx. $900.00 per sensor uninstalled. The system has been shut off at this time. This is a necessary safety feature for this large family vehicle with numerous blind spots. …
Warning lights on both mirrors for blind spot detection stay on always - with the ding ding ding sounds ringing on and off - weather driving down the road or sitting still parked, if the car is running, the problem is there. I believe this unsafe issue should be fixed by a recall, as it is a problem that is very unsafe & dangerous, many folks whom have purchased this vehicle are experiencing the same unsafe problem! I paid for this feature on the vehicle, to add safety and now it is causing just the opposite, unsafe driving conditions. This really concerns me, a safety feature failing on all these cars and especially at such low mileage. With this feature malfunctioning, it is much more dangerous than texting or talking on the phone while driving. What is the criteria to get a recall in place, do people have to have accidents or die to get a problem recalled, how is it decided.
For a week I had trouble getting vehicle to start, on 9/10/15 only 5 months after buying vehicle it starting loosing power while I was driving 45 MPH down a busy highway. No lights came on indicating there was no power it just started slowing down, so I pulled over which was very hard to do because the steering wheel was tight and the brakes were tight as well. Finally got it to crank so I could get to a safe place off of the side of the road. I had it towed to a local mechanic who stated it was fuel pump but he wanted dealership look at it to be sure that was the only thing. They towed in on 9/16/15. Was not able to get it fixed until 9/23/15, when I had my husband take me to pick it up. I drove it across Town to work, at lunch would not crank. They had to tow it back to dealership where they informed me there was a bad connector and was fixing that. …
TIPM failure, dealership wants to charge me over $1000.00 to repair. Van started acting up in the electrical department . Windows rolling down, key fob not working, cruise control going out, wipers acting up, heated seats not working, ac and heat weakening, intermittent issue to start the van, then stopped running all together, now won't even turn over. Then I took it to dealership after having battery and alternator tested (all good) and had to bring it home cause they wouldn't take a payment plan. I looked on youtube for possible issues and fixes and checked my wiring to my TIPM and found one harness tampered with. Tape cut and wires cut as well didn't look lik that when I took it in. I'm upset because I can't afford to replace something this expensive and common known issue. Why is there no recall on this model but other models running this same TIPM? …
