My 2024 Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition, VIN [redacted], is subject to Toyota Safety Recall 25TA06, Interim 25TB06, NHTSA Recall 25V322, concerning reverse lamps that may become inoperable. The recall was announced in May 2025, but a repair remedy has still not been made available for my vehicle. The truck is primarily used for family transportation, including trips and nighttime driving. I experienced a minor, low-speed property-damage incident while reversing in a poorly lit garage area. Visibility behind and beside the vehicle was limited, and the truck contacted a garage-door support column before the garage lighting came on. The incident caused minor cosmetic side damage. There were no injuries, no structural damage, no police report, and no insurance claim. I previously advised Toyota that I had experienced an issue related to the recall. …
While driving on the highway at approximately 65mph my sunroof spontaneously exploded. It was as loud as a gunshot and glass rained down into the cab as well as "exploded" upward and outward raining down behind my truck while driving. This startled me and all passengers. There were no vehicles ahead of us or in the oncoming lanes on the other side of the separated highway. No foreign debris was found in the truck and there was no other damage anywhere other than the obvious glass lying everywhere. I previously complained to the dealership during routine service that the sunroof made a rattling sound during light bumps. The routine service was completed and I was given the response of "our techs couldn't reproduce the sound(s) so we can't help with that today". …
Vehicle is subject to two active safety recalls, both listed as "remedy not available." One recall involves a potential engine defect related to manufacturing debris, which may result in engine damage and sudden loss of motive power. Manufacturer recall documentation indicates this condition may increase the risk of a stall, particularly under sustained load such as towing or highway operation. A second recall involves reverse lamp failure, which reduces rear visibility and may increase the risk of a crash when backing. No failure event has occurred. However, both safety defects remain unresolved, and no repair or timeline for remedy has been provided. The vehicle is used for towing and hauling, which requires sustained engine load. …
This vehicle has tow mirrors that are located way too high for the driver to see over them - I'm 5'10" and my son is 6'0" and neither of us can see over these mirrors. Over the past year I have had multiple close calls because of the very large blind spot created by the tow mirrors on this vehicle. There is also excessive plastic around the mirror that excerbates the problem. It is only a period of time before a serious accident or a pedestrian collision will happen because of this manuracturing/design defect. Very concerned and disappointed. One specific incident was when I was turning onto a road at a slight and looked both ways and pulled out in front a car that was behind the blind spot and going 60 mph. Very close to a major accident.
I have a 2022 Tundra with 18,700 miles on it that is part of the recall for a new engine! This is my fourth tundra, and the materials used in the 3rd Gen are sub-par to say the least! I have already had to replace the actuator and motor in my passenger window because it was stuck halfway open/closed and it took the dealership almost 2 weeks just to get the parts and put them in. My tailgate isn't aligned properly and the mold growth on all the rubber window trim is a nightmare as well as the roof wells that are also covered in mold up and down both sides. My rear passenger door doesn't close correctly and nobody at Toyota knows how to fix any of these issues! I am very concerned about a dealership putting a new engine in my truck when they can't even change the oil or rotate my tires correctly. …
I actually have too very serious issues with my new Tundra. 1) my seat is coming loose from floor of my truck every time I take a corner it feels like it's going to tip over and makes a loud clunk and it feels like the back of the seat is separating from the part where my rear end sits (aka my butt) 2) when it rains the water flows off of the hood and then I am assuming the fan that goes to radiator spits a blast of water right in my driver's side of windshield, this because the poor design of the grill on certain 22 Tundra Limited models. Very dangerous if you ask me or anybody else that has this problem which is quite a few people from what I have seen on 2022 Tundra Forums. Those are just 2 major issues of the many I have.
