On August 31, 2025, my 2025 Toyota Tundra experienced a sudden steering failure while I was driving, which caused an accident with a parked vehicle. The steering wheel completely seized up and I was unable to control the vehicle. This was a serious safety hazard that put my life and the lives of others on the road at risk. The vehicle showed warning messages and error codes related to the steering system immediately before and after the crash. The problem was unexpected and there was no prior damage to the vehicle that would explain this. The vehicle is currently at a Toyota dealership, where the dealer has confirmed that the inspection has been submitted to Toyota corporate for review. My insurance company has also inspected the vehicle. At this time, Toyota has not provided me with a resolution. This appears to be a manufacturer defect in the steering system. …
The contact owns a 2025 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel was slightly locked while making a left or right turn. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was scheduled for a diagnostic test in the upcoming days. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4,605.
2 issues to report: 1. Truck has a pull to the right since new. Found the front strut springs installed wrong. Attached photos show 2024 tundras on the dealer (pink dot on drivers side, yellow dot on passenger side) lot vs. mine (pink dot on passengers side, yellow dot on drivers side). Dealer corrected. Following repairs, pull is much better, but still present. Over 20 alignments completed; 3 by toyota and 3 by 3rd party. Problem continues. I believe it is a manufacturing defect in the safety equipment, suspension, or bent frame. 2. Toyota recalled V35A engines through my manufactured date. Because mine is a hybrid, it was excluded. Crankshaft main bearings seize due to a defect. I am forced to drive a vehicle on public roads while toyota recognizes the issue.
I am experiencing premature and uneven tire wear on my 2024 Toyota Tundra, specifically on the outer edges of the front tires. This has occurred despite proper rotation and no off-road use, the tires showed significant edge wear. Multiple alignment checks revealed improper front end camber and Toe settings, which appear to be part of a wider issue affecting many 2022-2024 Tundra's, especially 4WD models. Toyota has not issued a recall but has quietly revised alignment specifications at the dealer level to address the problem. This defect compromises tire life, vehicle handling, and potentially safety. I believe this issue should be formally investigated and addressed by the NHTSA.
The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while driving at 70 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the engine and steering warning lights were illuminated. The message to "Shift to Park and Restart Vehicle" was displayed. The contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V381000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle with complete engine failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed there was no recall coverage on the VIN related to the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 57,000.
My 2023 Toyota Tundra currently has a open recall for the fuel tube rubbing against another near component increasing the risk of fire. The life of my family/public and myself were put at risk every day as this can cause a fire which is life threating. This problem has been confirmed by Toyota however there is no safe remedy for it at the moment. There is also a problem with the suspension/ball joints. Every time I turn the steering wheel while driving forward or reverse there is a clicking noise coming from what appears to be the suspension or ball joints or around that area. That issue has been reported to the local dealer however they cant duplicate that issue, according to the service adviser. There were no warning lamps turned on prior to any of the aforementioned. One thing I did notice was that the gas mileage significantly dropped even though I was driving the same distance. …
On [redacted] I was driving in Connecticut when I realized we had taken the wrong directions. We were following my son's girlfriend's iphone which kept changing the directions. When we ended up with an over pass in a parking area I applied my brakes but the brakes didn't work. I was trying to go left to take an alternate road but couldn't stop. This kind of thing where the brakes or steering have been happening on and off since we got the truck I believe someone has hacked into it using a car kit is what I found under devices but then it disappeared. It also changes my truck into towing mode which is another thing it does. This is done everyday. I noticed I have no history on my truck. This is because it can be put on and taken off randomly. I believe it is a family members doing this to me. We had a Nissan and they did it to that too. It totaled our new camper. …
This 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro is subject to Limited Service Campaign 24TD01 for premature tire wear, caused by a factory front toe/camber angle defect acknowledged by Toyota. The vehicle received the campaign remedy (front alignment adjustment and tire replacement) in May 2024, but the same wear pattern on the front tires reappeared and has continued for over a year, documented across multiple dealership visits. A dealership technician found abnormal front tire wear on three separate occasions (August 2025, September 2025, and March 2026) but never recommended a front-end alignment despite Toyota's own campaign identifying alignment/camber as the root cause. As of August 2026, the right front tire tread had worn down to approximately 1/32 inch, an unsafe condition, and only then was an alignment finally recommended in writing for the first time. …
