The contact owns a 2025 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while the tailgate was closing automatically, her grandson's finger was at the upper closing point of the tailgate; however, the tailgate continued to close. The contact's husband put his body weight on the tailgate and was able to stop the tailgate from closing. There was no injury sustained. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact put her hand at the upper closing point of the tailgate while the tailgate was closing automatically, and the tailgate stopped closing as designed. The dealer informed the contact that they could not fix the tailgate failure to stop closing when a smaller hand or object was within the closing point. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 1,300.
Center console glossy trim around the gear shift gives off a blinding glare from the sunlight coming through the front windshield. Almost side swiped the adjacent vehicle on my right when blinded. This was noted and photographed after just owning the vehicle for one day. Talked to Toyota Corporate who told me to take it to local dealership. Toyota of Fort Worth said there is nothing they can do and referred back to Toyota Corporate. Toyota Corporate has yet to respond. The start/stop is faulty. Engine does not turn off at red lights (bypass not activated). At red lights, the "press brake further to activate" light will come on, the truck will shake, then the "battery charging" warning light will come on. Dealership response is I am not breaking hard enough or I just need to learn to press the bypass every time I start the vehicle. …
The vehicle while parked and not running on our driveway burst into flames and had large fire and explosions that burned the vehicle front half completely. the whole engine compartment burned and melted and destroyed the vehicle. No warning lights, no issues. Just burst into flames and destroyed the vehicle.
I am filing this complaint regarding a premature material failure on my 2024 Toyota Tundra. The factory-applied smoked overlay finish on the front grille is peeling and separating in large chunks, exposing the chrome underneath. This is occurring at approximately 46,000 miles and less than two years of ownership. This is not normal wear and tear, fading, or minor cosmetic deterioration. The finish is physically delaminating from the grille surface, which appears to indicate a defect in the manufacturing or application process of the factory-installed material. The vehicle has been properly maintained, has not been modified, and has not been subjected to misuse or environmental damage beyond normal driving conditions. …
The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the check engine, Auto Start/Stop, and another unknown warning light illuminated. The message "Grill Shutter Malfunction Low Voltage" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the battery sensor, alternator, and ECU had short-circuited. The dealer replaced the battery sensor, alternator, and ECU; however, the failure persisted with the check engine and another unknown warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who determined that the grill shutter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 57,000.
This vehicle has tow mirrors that are located way too high for the driver to see over them - I'm 5'10" and my son is 6'0" and neither of us can see over these mirrors. Over the past year I have had multiple close calls because of the very large blind spot created by the tow mirrors on this vehicle. There is also excessive plastic around the mirror that excerbates the problem. It is only a period of time before a serious accident or a pedestrian collision will happen because of this manuracturing/design defect. Very concerned and disappointed. One specific incident was when I was turning onto a road at a slight and looked both ways and pulled out in front a car that was behind the blind spot and going 60 mph. Very close to a major accident.

The contact was informed by the dealer that parts were not available and were on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to another deale,r where the same information was provided, and the contact was informed that the rear bumper needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the rear bumper had failed again and needed to be replaced.
