What owners report
While towing my boat trailer the dash lights up with AEB, ESC, ABS lights as well as messages saying service needed for several other systems like cruise control and adaptive cruise control. This happened on a busy street while in motion causing a loss of all safety subsystems related to braking. The dealer diagnosed as a failed ABS/HCU and required replacement. My truck had 1350 miles at time of incident.
Truck has 170 miles and it suddenly slammed on the breaks on the highway stating that the EBS failed. A loud humming sound came from the transmission and now the truck is saying service transmission and service brakes. The truck will need to be towed to a dealer to review as it is not drivable at this time .
Drove down a paved road in the legal speed limit (30mph). Hit a bump in the pavement and the dash had large amounts of disabled codes popping up: airbag disabled, emergency braking disabled, power steering disabled, blind spots need service, traction control. Brought it to a RAM dealership where they found 6 active and 51 stored DTCs all tied to the communication to the powertrain and safety modules (4wd, power steering, airbags, ABS). The dealer did not have time to fix it, so another dealership said they would fix it if I drove it to them. That second dealer found 3 pulled out wires in the right front fender liner, plug those 3 wires in and works like new. My safety was put at risk due to the airbags disabling, power steering disabling, and ABS. …
I have a 2025 ram 2500 diesel, and I use it to tow, as I am a farmer, and have a farm. I pull stock trailers, my tractor, and other trailers associated with my farm. I took my truck in for the trailer tow module recall to be done over 4 months ago, and they said they had to order the part and would call once it came in. It has now been over 4 months, I have called the dealer to follow up, and keep getting the same answer. The part hasn't arrived yet, and they will call me when it comes in. Every time I hook up a trailer it disables my trailer brakes, throws the AEB light on, and I am afraid, that in the instance I have to stop abruptly, that I may crash, and or hurt or even Kill someone due to these issues. …
Airbags did not deploy during a significant accident where (self) Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie 2024 truck was involved in 2 front on collisions hitting 2 different vehicles at approx 65 mph (about 5 mins apart) including a 3rd part to the accident with a rear collision by a full speed tractor trailer moving the (dodge) truck about 200 ft. into the 2nd parked vehicle (blue sedan). Dodge truck (self) was not drivable after the initial accident into the chevy truck. No auto breaking and no frontal collision warning (uncertain if they are standard for the trucks or an option) occurred. The vehicle was towed and in a tow lot (is available for inspection). There is a police report and followed up with an ER visit same day. At least 3 vehicles were totaled due to this accident. The initially hit vehicle (white chevy truck) was the cause of the accident.
I was in my yard backing my truck up and the camera froze in the location that I was in and the sensors did not beep. The distance that I was backing up was not very far. It wasn't until I backed into a post in the front of my house, that I realized the camera and sensors had temporarily failed.
When turning on a highway exit ramp approximately 60mph Adaptive steering may have caused vehicle to not turn adequately and begin to go off the road. Lane keep assist failed to keep or even attempt to keep vehicle in lane and on the road. Adaptive steering may have prevented corrective action to prevent incident. Vehicle struck a guard rail as a result which potentially could have been fatal. No testing, investigation, or inspection has been conducted at this time. No warnings or messages were displayed.
My screen on my truck went out and had to be reset manually, next my heated steering wheel stopped working. The problem is the cool spring in my steering wheel. Upon research there is a common problem with this said coil spring. This can cause multiple problems including loss of air bag function and front end collision indicator which comes on time to time saying it's disabled due to this same said coil. Why this is not a recall and the owner's responsibility is unknown. There is also no indicator telling you if the airbag may or may not deploy when need from this issue.
