The contact owns a 2017 Ram 2500. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the ABS, traction control, TPMS, and Forward Collision Avoidance warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 117,000. The contact stated Fiat/Chrysler/Ram Trucks is going to replace the hydraulic ABS module free of charge.
At 9794 miles, warranty repair for Code C002001, failed ABS pump motor control, general circuit failure, replaced control module under warranty. Now the vehicle is having same issue at 37,[redacted] miles, and no longer under warranty. Screen constantly flashes "Service electronic brake system" and "Service ABS System" over and over. ABS light comes on. Traction control light comes on. Vehicle does not have functioning electronic brakes or ABS. I contacted original dealership who performed repair at 9794 miles who now reports they "have no record" of this repair, although I still have the customer copy of the receipt. I contacted Mopar customer support on 7/11/23 who told me that I would be contacted within 3 days, but I have not been verbally contacted. I also filed an online complaint with Mopar on 7/11/23 and have not received an electronic reply, either. …
My truck is a 2017 Ram 2500 and is experiencing the same issues as those included in NHTSA Recall No. 24V-896. However my truck was produced before the April 1, 2017 range listed. I have replaced the HCU as recommended by the dealer on [redacted] at my own cost and this did not resolve the issue. The dealer says the control module is faulty, but Chrysler will not provide the part as they say the HCU I purchased is in the Faulty range also but they say that even though the part I purchased to correct the issue is under recall, my truck is not and they have not responded to my request to correct the issue. This is a safety concern as it affects ABS, TSC, Parking Assist sensors and most importantly prevents the vehicles 4WD system from engaging which is an extreme safety concern in the mountains of North Carolina in winter. …
I received notification of Manufacture Recall C4B (NHTSA Recall 24V-896) in Nov 2024. My intermittent ABS light on my dashboard is continuously going on and off, indicating a problem with the anti-lock braking system since 2024. This prevents the setting of cruise control as well as a constant alarm sound. I feel this directly correlates from the brake hydraulic control unit HCU susceptible to failure or malfunction as stated in the recall and feel unsafe to drive my vehicle due to the potential risk of loss of ABS/ESC/Traction control that may cause my vehicle to crash without prior warning. …
Issue a recall here! Many others are reporting this identical issue and a class action suit has been filed! ABS sensor light and chime comes on at random times. My truck just reached 100,000 miles. I've performed no troubleshooting but it is extremely intermittent, either the Service the Automatic or Service the Electronic Braking System(s). Usually, a bump in the road makes it come and another turns it off. Sometimes it happens so quickly, only the message and traction control disabled light comes on, sometimes only the chime comes in. Sometimes the message stays up and the brake warning and traction control light comes on, sometimes for a few minutes, sometimes a couple of seconds. To compound the problem, there appears to be an issue in sourcing replacement parts resulting in a delay in repair. …
My braking ABS HCU has failed 4 times in 6 years. At 4495, 10,058, 15,198, and 20,052 miles (last week.) Included is the paperwork associated with those failures that renders the ABS, and potentially the entire braking system into a failure mode. As noted in the paperwork, it happens about every 5,000 miles. Warning lights appear and dinging go off stating the ABS system needs serviced. At times its intermittent and other times it stays on. My research has found this is a very well noted problem with the 2017 and 2018 Dodge Ram trucks. In addition, there is a safety class action suit in California. Last date it occurred is noted below. I have all the repair data available electronically. However there must be a glitch in your system. When I hit the upload button it does not allow for an upload. Would be more than happy to provide.
On my truck my ABS and traction control light came on as well as a message that say to service ABS system. The parts are on back order for a year now. This problem has surfaced on many Ram 2500's. I contacted the dealer and they don't have parts to fix if. When driving in wet conditions especially while towing a trailer the wheels lock up while breaking. I've been towing going down hill and have had to use a combination of engine breaking, downshifting and feathering the brakes to slow down. Chrysler Fiat should issue a recall on this issue since it happens to many Ram 2500. This started when I had only 38k miles on my truck. Chrysler fiat has issued a recall for the 2019+ trucks but not the 2014-2018 which have the same exact problem. I'm hoping you can help this matter.
I own a 2017 Ram the electronic breaking system light kept coming on when I had about 34000 miles on it but I had it over the 3 year period for warranty. Paid dealership about $1200.00 to get it fixed. Again at about 45,000 miles it started it again. Checked with dealer said it would cost about $1400.00 to get corrected and they would have to wait for parts. I see a lot of others have had the same problem with that model. I feel as lot of others, this should be a recall item. Also cruise control want work when light is on. Ram is going to wait until someone has a wreck and a fatality before they do anything about this issue. Also there will be a class action suit against them and they will be plenty follow. Hope how soon Ram decides to honor this defective issue.
The service light for a electronic Brake System as well as the light for Electronic ABS system started blinking on and off numerous times. I called the dealer to make an appointment and had to wait 2 months to get it in for service. When I got it in for service they told me the issue. They said it will be covered under my extended warranty. However, the part is in Engineering hold and is not available for ordering untill February 22, 2024. I need my truck. Can't wait 5 months for it to be ordered and shipped. That is if they release for orders in the 21st. Now my truck is setting in the dealer back lot, unsafe to drive they have told me. This all started while driving. Fortunately I didn't have an accident or and incident before getting it to the dealership.
