What owners report
I was driving to the mailbox today and the car revved forward and the steering became hard to control and steer. This is the second incident. When I originally reported to the Supervisong Service agent at my Honda of Katy, Mr. John Kasimoff, he dismissed it since the "check engine light" did not turn off. He and the staff at Honda of Katy discouraged me from bringing in the car. I am afraid to drive the car in Texas. A car is necessary for my livelihood and to get around. Food shopping and to buy simple basic necessities require an automobile and can no longer afford taking Ubers and depend on the kindness of friends to assist me with deliveries and other transportation. The recall came merely days after purchasing my new car and it's suspect to me that no one at the dealership was unaware of ongoing issues when they keep contacting me about purchasing. …
103H tire So after I get the car from dealership, the next week I had a sign or tire low pressure by the dashboard and I start checking everyday and I figured out that is specifically is by the driver side tire is low pressure. First I took it to discount tire to see and they said I don't see any flat tire or any issues and he pump them all and tried to balance them . But still the sign in the dashboard so I decided to take it to dealership and they said maybe only the dashboard computer and they fixed it and was not showing that day as the sign went from TEMPS setting. …
While driving on the highway, my daughter experienced an issue that caused her to lose the ability to steer the vehicle. The vehicle went off of the road and into a guardrail causing damage to the left side of the car. Prior to losing the ability to steer, she thought she felt some strange shaking. Thankfully, she was not hurt and did not collide with any other vehicles. The situation could have ended much worse than it did. The vehicle is currently at the dealership being inspected. There were no warning lights or messages prior to the incident. The issue seems very similar to other issues that we have read about affecting 2024 CRVs and other Honda models that cause difficulty steering. Much like the issues we read about, this was a new vehicle with low mileage and during winter months.
We were driving on [redacted] . Lane keep assist and cruise control were active at the time of the incident. We were driving in the leftmost lane when suddenly we heard a loud thud noise and the tire immediately went 90 degrees causing us to lose steering control. The vehicle went from the left lane into the shoulder, making contact with the side barrier on the highway with the tire as first point of contact. We immediately attempted to regain control of the vehicle and managed to steer it out of the barrier and slowly come to a skidding stop in the shoulder area. Multiple suspension components damaged, possibly transmission, wheel damaged, ball joint and axle damaged, left front strut, strut mount, strut bearing, and upper spring seat damaged. …
The contact owns a 2023 Honda CR-V equipped with Michelin Tires, Tire Line: Michelin, Tire Size: 235/55/19, DOT Number: (N/A). The contact stated that the vehicle was serviced and the tires were rotated; the technician became aware that the tires were not properly aligned. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that all four tires needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
At 9K miles excessive noise, sounds like a helicopter. Dealership confirmed all four tires were scalped, did an alignment and thought it might correct the problem. It has not, both the dealer and Corporate Honda refused to correct. Adaptive Cruise Control malfunction, major safety hazard. When engaged the car unexpectedly stops at all speeds on highway or rural roads, with no cars in sight in front of the vehicle. Have experienced multiple incidents or near rear end collisions because of abrupt braking. When brought to dealer they claimed they couldn't find any error codes, thought that maybe dirt was on the two radar sensing units... not the case, still continues to be an issue. Car turns off unexpectedly... on an on ramp to a highway, traffic was stopped. When traffic started moving the car turned off completely... warning light stated see dealer. …
The contact owns a 2022 Honda CR-V equipped with Continental Tires, Tire Line: Cross Contact, Tire Size: 235/55/R19, DOT Number: HWE7WC8K1722. The contact stated that there was a round dot on the front passenger's side tire. Upon closer inspection, the tire displayed a crack and a large groove along the sidewall, and the sidewall lettering was missing. The other three tires were manufactured by Continental but were a different tire line and showed no visible damage. The vehicle was taken to a tire center for inspection, where it was determined that the bead was broken and that the tire had been driven while flat. The vehicle was then taken to a local dealer, who informed the contact that two of the tires needed to be replaced. The tires were not replaced. The dealer confirmed that there was no warranty or recall coverage available for the failure. The manufacturer was not contacted. …
