What owners report
Sudden Unintended Acceleration (SUA) I was pulling into a parking spot in a parking structure. I was coasting into the spot and applied the brakes. Upon releasing the break and allowing the car to coast, it unintentionally lurched forward with some acceleration even though I did not press on the gas petal. This results in the car lurching forward and hitting the parking garage wall. A call to the dealer indicated there is no reported problems of this kind and there are no recalls. There were no symptoms or lights indicating a potential problem. Car is only 4.5 months old and purchased new. This was the first instance of this happening.
1. The vehicle accelerated rapidly and uncontrollably without my touching the gas pedal and despite my slamming the breaks. 2 The vehicle jumped a curb and slammed into a parked car. Someone could have been easily killed if they were in front of the vehicle. 3. Not yet. I will have it towed to the dealer tomorrow. 4. No, See #3 above. 5. No. This was the first time this happened.
The contact owns a 2025 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while his wife was pulling into a parking space, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle unintendedly accelerated and crashed into the condo building. The contact confirmed that the brakes were applied during the failure, but the vehicle failed to stop as intended. The safety features failed to engage, and the seat belt detached. A bystander testified that the driver was not speeding. The message "Take The vehicle to Dealer for service" was displayed. The driver sustained bruises, but medical assistance was not received. A police report was filed. There was no reported fire or airbag deployment. The vehicle remained at the scene. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 20,790.
The contact owns a 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid. The contact stated that while driving at slow speeds and shifting the vehicle in the parking position on an incline of a hill. The brake pedal was applied, but it depressed to the floorboard and failed to respond, resulting in her crashing into her daughter's Ford Expedition. The low-speed impact message was displayed after the incident. There were no warning lights illuminated. The brake pedal was soft for two weeks before the crash. There were no reported injuries, fires, airbag deployments, or police reports filed. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, who was unable to replicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,123.

The vehicle independently accelerated and crashed into a tree. The air bags did not deploy. The contact injured their head on the steering wheel. The contact also received bruises to their neck and knees that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was able to be driven the short distance home. The contact then stated that they later had the vehicle towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the battery had failed, however, they did not provide a diagnosis for the brake failure. This is the third time this vehicle has experienced wheel lock-up during braking. The first occurrence was over three months ago, while one driver was driving alone. The second occurrence was about one month ago, with a different driver, and a passenger was present who also witnessed the wheels locking; no collision resulted those two times. Both involved the wheels locking during braking and a loss of steering control. On the third occurrence, on June 25, while driving on the freeway, the vehicle ahead braked suddenly. The driver applied the brakes and they initially responded, allowing the driver to slow and avoid hitting the vehicle in front. Immediately afterward, the wheels locked up and the driver lost the ability to steer or maneuver. The anti-lock braking system did not prevent the wheels from locking. …
The contact owned a 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 50 MPH, the vehicle in front slowed down, the brake pedal was depressed but traveled down to the floorboard, but the vehicle failed to respond and rear-ended the vehicle in front. The contact stated that the vehicle bounced and spun around, facing incoming traffic. The contact was unsure whether there was a warning light illuminated. The contact was unsure if any other vehicle had crashed into his vehicle. The driver-side air bag did not deploy; only the driver-side curtain air bag and the passenger-side air bags deployed. The contact was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The doctor diagnosed that the patient had sustained injury to the lower back; the L4 was severely damaged. The contact's chest and head hit the steering wheel. …
2/24/2024 I was in a library parking lot, going parking lot speed where children might be encountered. I turned right into a perpendicular parking space, no cars on either side. I went to brake as I approached the parking lot bumper and the car unexpectedly accelerated and would not stop. I crashed into a tree and metal pole, which stopped the car. I don't believe the car would have stopped without the tree and pole. I put the car in reverse and with difficulty backed back into the parking space. The right fender is severly damaged, right tire flat and I was unable to move the tires back to a straight position. The car cannot be driven. Yesterday, 2/23, I was at the dealers for oil change and tire rotation and was told there was a recall on the vehicle which required a softwear update. …
