What owners report
1. The vehicle accelerated rapidly and uncontrollably without my touching the gas pedal and despite my slamming the breaks. 2 The vehicle jumped a curb and slammed into a parked car. Someone could have been easily killed if they were in front of the vehicle. 3. Not yet. I will have it towed to the dealer tomorrow. 4. No, See #3 above. 5. No. This was the first time this happened.
On August 29, 2026 our 2026 Honda CRV Hybrid had a sudden unintended acceleration ending in a collision with a tree. The car was in a low speed and being parked in a parking lot. While slowing down or decelerating, the CRV surged forward. The collision repairs cost approximately 15,000. Due to the fact that it happened in a parking lot on private property, no police report was filed. State Farm, our insurance was notified and we were encouraged to call Caliber Collision. State Farm sent a tow truck and our CRV was taken to Caliber Collision the same day. At the time of the collision, no air bag was deployed. As the driver at the time, the incident happened very quickly, and I was thankful the vehicle hit a tree and not a person. I can honestly say my foot was NOT on the acceleration pedal. …
Date of Accident: April 13, 2026 I drove into our church parking lot and then parked next to my husband's car and was totally stopped and in the parking space. I thought I had my foot on the brake. After a split second, it accelerated and jumped the curb of the parking space at a very fast speed. I had no control of the car. I sheared off a heavy metal sidewalk railing and was headed for the brick church (church is on a berm above parking lot), but I managed to steer away to miss the church and a large tree. I steered off the berm and into empty parking lot - still traveling at high speed. I finally threw it into neutral to get it to stop because it was continuing toward a busy street with lots of traffic. Neutral stopped it. No air bags deployed. The front and side of the car that hit the metal railing sustained $6,500 damage. Towed it to collision repair. …
On 3/17/26, my husband and I started heading N on RT 83 to a medical appointment in our 2025 Honda CR-V Touring Sport. We were doing between 40 to 50 miles/hr. Twenty minutes later, we smelled faint smoke which was attributed to the trucks driving around us. Upon exit to our next route we immediately came to a red light and stopped and found heavy dark smoke coming from inside the front of our hood. We slowly moved to the R lane to get to a strip parking lot to move vehicle to a safe spot. When we finally found a safe parking a vehicle stopped to alert us of a noticeable fire at the bottom front of the Honda. We jumped out and 911 was called. By the time Police, followed by the Fire Dept, the front of my CR-V was engulfed by fire. I had just purchased this 2025 Touring Sport from Carmax 6 months earlier and it had just 7091 miles to it. …

Woke up at [redacted] to neighbor banging on door and yelling your car is on fire. Vehicle is parked in front driveway, front part of the car where engine is ablazed. Neighbor said he heard "pops" like firecrackers/gunshot when he went to look out his window the fire was reflected on the fence across the car. I did google search for possible fire causes and search returned with Recall notice for fuel pump, battery and battery cladding on model. Contacted Honda but Aileen just promised to send inspector for joint inspection with USAA inspector but hasn't been responsive to call or emails for follow up. Fortuntaely, didn't park in the garage or we would have been burned down with the house also quite fortunate that car was driving on the road. …
