What owners report
The contact owns a 2026 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at 33 MPH, the vehicle ahead unexpectedly decelerated, resulting in a rear-end collision. The contact stated that the Forward Collision Warning system failed to activate prior to the crash. During the collision, the driver-side, front passenger-side, and rear passenger-side airbags deployed in a delayed manner, and the driver-side airbag appeared to rupture during deployment. The front end of the vehicle sustained extensive damage, and the vehicle was towed by the insurance company to a private impound lot. The contact was transported via ambulance to a medical center, where she was treated for a fractured sternum, broken ribs, chest contusions, and trauma leading to respiratory distress, requiring diagnostic scans, X-rays, and an EKG evaluation. A police report was filed. …
The driver-side frontal airbag/restraint system may have failed to operate during a collision involving a significant impact to the front driver's side of my 2026 Honda CR-V. The vehicle was declared a total loss, but the driver's airbag did not deploy. The seat belt locked and appeared to function properly. The insurance company has already taken possession of the vehicle, so its present availability for inspection is UNKNOWN. My safety was put at risk because the driver's airbag did not provide additional protection during the impact. Following the accident, I experienced a concussion, dizziness/vertigo, and neck, shoulder, and back pain. The issue has not been reproduced or formally confirmed by a Honda dealer or an independent service center. I notified Honda that the airbag did not deploy, but Honda did not inspect the vehicle. …
The contact owns a 2025 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while slowly driving into a parking space and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle unintendedly accelerated and drove over a curb and onto the sidewalk and crashed into a concrete wall. During the crash, there was severe front-end damage; however, the air bags failed to deploy. No injuries were reported. A Police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to the local Collision Center. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The contact stated that the failure had occurred once before. The failure mileage was 4,500.
I was involved in an accident which resulted in my C-RV being totaled. Another vehicle pulled out immediately in front of me and I crashed into it. None of my airbags deployed. My vehicle's emergency response system was activated- it called emergency response and kept repeating that a crash had been detected. The front of my car was crushed in and the impact sent the vehicle that pulled out in front of me, a Toyota 4Runner, doing a full roll and ending up on its side. Clearly, the airbags should have activated. I purchased the CR-V new, was the only owner, the vehicle had less than 5,000 miles on it, had never been in an accident, and there were no warning lights or messages indicating any problem with the airbag system prior to the accident. The car was deemed a total loss by my insurance company.
The contact owns a 2024 Honda CR-V. The contact's daughter attempted to make a left turn while at a stop light; however, the steering wheel failed to operate as needed. Due to the failure, the contact's daughter lost control of the vehicle and crashed into an electrical pole. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. While the contact's daughter suffered emotional distress due to the accident; she did not sustain any physical injuries. A police report was filed. Due to the accident, the vehicle was initially towed to an independent tow lot; the contact then called the dealer who referred the contact to an independent body shop. The vehicle was towed to the body shop where the contact was informed that the steering gearbox worm wheel was defective and was given an estimate for the repair. …
The contact owns a 2024 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 75-80 MPH, the contact rear-ended another vehicle in front. The air bags did not deploy. The impact caused soreness in her chest and lower back; however, medical attention was not received. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the collision center but was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was not deemed totaled by the insurance company. The dealer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,300. The VIN was unavailable.
The contact owned a 2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 50 MPH, the vehicle in front slowed down, the brake pedal was depressed but traveled down to the floorboard, but the vehicle failed to respond and rear-ended the vehicle in front. The contact stated that the vehicle bounced and spun around, facing incoming traffic. The contact was unsure whether there was a warning light illuminated. The contact was unsure if any other vehicle had crashed into his vehicle. The driver-side air bag did not deploy; only the driver-side curtain air bag and the passenger-side air bags deployed. The contact was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The doctor diagnosed that the patient had sustained injury to the lower back; the L4 was severely damaged. The contact's chest and head hit the steering wheel. …
The contact owns a 2023 Honda CR-V. The contact received a notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V744000 (Steering) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at approximately 25 MPH, the steering wheel abruptly became difficult to steer in either the left or right direction. Desiccated Air Bag Inflator Rupture
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited.
