The contact owns a 2017 Ford Edge. The contact stated that after the vehicle was parked, the vehicle could not be restarted. The vehicle was towed to the local service center who replaced the battery and confirmed that the alternator was operating normally. The failure reoccurred, and the battery was replaced on two additional occasions. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The local dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 95,000.
I am told my APIM module needs to be replaced. My touch screen will go black and then come back on. I am unable to use handsfree phone due to system not staying connected to my bluetooth. The radio will not turn off or on and sometimes will come on and be blaring while driving. The GPS does not work at all and if it decides to even show up on the screen will not follow streets at all. The warning sounds and lights will go off randomly while driving even if I am not close to something on the sides of my car. My backup cameras do not work all the time. The cruise control will not keep distance and will stop working randomly. The entire touch screen will not respond to any touch. These items are very distracting and unsafe at best. There has been no accidents to cause these problems. …
PLEASE SEE ATTACHED LETTER This complaint is being submitted due to gross negligence in recall communication and manufacturer accountability. This failure in vehicle safety oversight that has already resulted in emotional and financial harm. In September of this year, I submitted an application for a buy-back option to Ford but was denied. This application/request was assigned a case number by Ford: [VIN] My vehicle has four unresolved safety recalls, two of which directly caused two accident that could-and should-have been prevented had I been notified of the known safety risks. I did not receive recall notices until after both of the accidents occurred, which demonstrates a systemic failure by the manufacturer, Ford. This negligence is not only irresponsible-it violates basic safety obligations to consumers and the public. …
My car loses power when I press the gas. For example, I can come to a stop, wait until it's safe to turn in front of another car, then try to take off - but the vehicle suddenly loses all power. It won't accelerate, and I have to keep pressing the gas and hope it goes. Sometimes I have to pull over, put it in park, turn the car off, and restart it before it will drive again. This also happens on the freeway. When this issue happens, the car also shifts very hard afterward, causing it to jump forward. This makes the vehicle extremely unsafe - especially when I am trying to turn in front of cars moving at high speed and my car suddenly loses all power. I have taken the vehicle in five times for the same issue, but the Ford dealership has not been able to repair it. I have also called Ford's corporate office, but they said they cannot help. …
I am writing to express my concern with how Ford is handling Safety Recall 25S89. I have had numerous incidents where the camera has failed when backing up and have photos to document these instances. I brought my 2017 Edge to the dealership today and was told that it did not need replacement. So, it's "safe" to have the camera display a blank screen some of the time? I would think that the rationale behind a backup camera is that it is safe 100% of the time or it should be replaced. If a part fails only some of the time, is it considered a safe part per the NHTSA? I would really appreciate hearing back from someone at NHTSA on this issue and perhaps there needs to be review with Ford on how this is being handled.
vehicle losing acceleration when a small incline is needed after a stop. Engine will rev up but it will not move. Putting vehicle in to park and turning it off and back on again does a small reset and starts moving again. Over the last few months this event has happened multiple times until roughly around 2 months ago it will not move at all. check engine light is on and code saying "Transmission not in park" when you put it in Reverse and neutral and Drive and Sport. called dealership and they don't pick up the vehicle and want to charge me 180.00 just to Diagnose it.
I turned my car on and a Warning light of adaptive steering sensor came on. Then my steering wheel was not in the correct position while I was driving. I only have 80 thousand miles on this vehicle. I feel like this vehicle should have been included the recalls of the other 2017 ford edges. Adaptive steering issues. Please add my VIN # to the recall so I can fix this. I'm afraid to drive it now. Thank you for your time with this problem. I can't afford to fix this. I was told it would cost close to 4000 dollars.
My vehicle has a dash light warning for service that says "Limited Park Brake Function, Service Vehicle" and then applies my parking break on its own. I have at times be unable to get the parking brake to release and will have to start and stop my vehicle numerous times before it will accept me releasing the parking brake.
My camera intermittently goes blank and car feel like it doesn't stop properly today I was backing out of a driveway and camera went blank and caused me to back into a car that had pulled up I called my local ford after I got the letters but they said I would receive a letter when they get the parts in !!
Under acceleration the vehicle will sometimes enter into limp mode. Vehicle will violently brake and come to a halt and the driver can only accelerate up to +/-5MPH to be able to pull off to the side of the road. The deceleration when this happens is sudden and violent. During this event the steering wheel is difficult to turn. ALL dash warning and fault lights flash during the malfunction. You have to pull over, shut the vehicle off, and then restart. This has happened with our two kids in the vehicle while merging onto a freeway. I have brought it to Ford 4 times. The first time they said a harness was loose and they fixed it. Other times they blamed my use of a narrower diameter winter tire, but it happens with the stock wheels as well. The malfunction continues to happen. They have not been able to duplicate the issue, so they asked me to drive around with a OBD2 scanner attached. …
