My car has a faulty latch system in the driver side door. My door is completely shut however the warning light for an open door stays on and I am unable to lock my car while driving as this light stays on. This is also causing my lights to stay on as well. This is a safety concern because I have 2 children and I cannot lock my doors from the inside of my car while the car is in motion. I hit the lock button and since my car is showing that there is an open door, they immediately unlock and stay that way, which is a safety issue not only for myself but my children as well. I've had this issue for a couple of years now and went online and saw that several other ford edge owners have had the same problem.
I am reporting a very serious problem with the warning monitor sensor systems on my 2010 Ford Edge. As you May know there is a 'door ajar sensor' notification system notifying the driver of a door being ajar. The problem is the sensor constantly fails when the door is not ajar or seems to not be ajar. There are several problems when there is the display one: 'not sure doors are locked, especially when one is transporting children. 'can not lock the car doors ' this is a major safety hazard with children in the car. Also, with the great increase in 'car jackings', not being able to lock the doors makes the family very vulnerable. 'next, the display leaves the interior lights on putting an unnecessary drain on the car electrical system. This could adversely safety of the other electrical systems causing a failure in traffic. …
'Takata recall' I am very disappointed and unsafe with my Ford Edge , for the last few weeks it has been shutting off when the car comes to a stop or in idle. There is no codes or any warning signs that comes up . The car just losses power and shits off on its own. I am tired of fixing and spending money behind my Ford Edge I know it has nothing to do with the engine because it was recently replaced last year July under warranty also I replaced all tensions and the water pump also spark plugs . I took it to my main mechanic and he could not figure out what's the problem he told me to go to Ford and I went to Ford and they took 2 days to tell me they don't know what's the problem . Today I was on my way home on the highway I come to slow down getting off on my exit and the car just shuts off and the steering wheel gets tight and I can't move or turn it . …
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15V712000 (fuel system). The contact scheduled an appointment and took the vehicle to the local dealer (johnson city Ford 207 princeton road johnson city, tn 37601) to be repaired. While the contact's wife was driving the vehicle, the check engine indicator illuminated after the vehicle was repaired. The vehicle was taken to lance cunningham Ford (4101 clinton hwy, knoxville tn, 37912) where it was diagnosed that the previous recall repair was performed incorrectly and damaged the wiring harness, which needed to be repaired. My 2010 Edge is dealing with the engine light, a wrench, and traction control lights all coming on and off whenever it feels like (in park or in any driving condition). When these lights come on I pretty much lose the ability to break on my own, it resists and grinds when breaking with the lights on. The lights can come and go for days at a time or for only a few miles. Also, the vehicle hesitates on take off when these lights are on. Code reader doesn't really tell us anything useful. If codes are cleared it eventually will come back on and continue having the same issues. This seems to be a common problem by what I'm finding, Ford should be responsible to fix this wiring/electrical issue. Another thing, the seatbelt light and alarm will not stop going off, even if you are in park for a while. I just bought this vehicle and I am far from impressed.
Door ajar light continually went on and off while in motion whether on a highway or city street. Noticed it also went on during left turns. Door locks on all doors would click on and off at stops. I wasn't sure that doors were locked with my children in the car. Internal lights would also go on an off. Common issue on the internet with Ford edges. It's all over and for years. I have young children and had to get the issue fixed at a cost of $542.83. I believe Ford needs to pay for this safety issue. The part number to replace was the latch part number 8t4z 78264a27 a. So a new door latch needed to be installed along with the repair of a wire in the door harness near the lh side of the door speaker. I am the original owner of this vehicle.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the trunk did not respond to the key fob. When the key fob was pressed, the trunk opened and closed repeatedly. Once the trunk was closed manually, the interior lighting in the vehicle remained illuminated, which drained the battery. The contact had to take the cables off of the battery at the end of each day to keep the battery from draining. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 91,967.
Drove car to store, parked and turned off. While gathering my purse I noticed smoke coming from front of car. Opened up hood and flames ignited. Appeared to start @ o2 sensor @ manifold. Burned 2nd coil pack and wiring harness. Burnt up radiator fan and upper radiator hose. Fire department called to put out. Car is at local Ford dealership to determine how and why fire started. So far no response or idea from them. They show one recall on corrosion of fuel tank, but say it did not contribute to the fire.
I had this car in a Ford garage back in januarty I had to spend over $2000.00 because one of the engine coils burned up and damaged the computer for the engine. I was told the others should be replaced also, but could not fix it because of no money. And also the brakes, rotors calipers on front of this car are a mess. I had to replace every bit of it also. This cars sucks I hate it but /
