1 Unknown. I suspect a malfunction involving the electronic gear-selection/shift-control system or transmission control system. I personally placed the vehicle in Park while the engine was running. After I exited the vehicle and was away from it, the vehicle moved on its own. When I returned after hearing the impact, the gear selector was no longer in Park and was in another position. The vehicle and relevant electronic systems are available for inspection. 2 The vehicle was parked on a steep hill. I had personally placed the vehicle in Park and exited it with my daughter. While I was inside my home, the vehicle moved without my knowledge or intentional input and struck my garage. The vehicle was running and was my spouse was still in the car when the movement occurred. …
The software for the ProSystem is flawed. When using the "lane keeping" part of the software, the vehicle, during a curve, will go to the left or right solid or dotted line, as appropriate, and exceed that limit by at least 2 feet, then sharply turn and go to the opposite solid or dotted line and exceed that limit by at least 2 feet. The vehicle will then oscillate between the two line for up to one minute with the oscillations decreasing all the while. When driving in a straight line with either solid or dotted lines delineating the lane, the steering wheel will continues to oscillate to a minor degree. I have turned the system off and do not use it. I have returned the vehicle to the dealer, Round Rock Nissan, Georgetown, TX for repair and was told the system is working correctly and do modifications are necessary. …
I was using the snow mode because there was a little bit of snow and ice on the road. I had been driving it that morning and did not have a problem until I turned in to my street. I turned right and the steering and brakes and accelerator all locked, leaving me where my car slid across the road and the left drivers side tire ran over the curb. I was not able to correct anything as everything locked. Even though I am okay and was going less than 5 mph while turning. I feel like the whole car's function to lock is unsafe as it left me to hope the curb would stop it. The car had to get towed and is now in the shop with $4,000 of damage to that tire and tire rods which I feel like could not have been prevented considering everything was locked and did not allow me to correct properly.
Vehicle could not brake. The abs brakes did not function and forward collission warning did not go on causing a collission with another car that cut in front of car. This caused collission, airbags to deploy and car is totaled. Driver and passenger were injured due to crash and air bag deployment. On the day of crash I received a warning in my app requesting I have my abs checked at dealer because abs brakes might not function properly from Nissan.
