The driver seatbelt latchplate binds and continually cinches tighter during normal driving. The issue occurs where the seatbelt webbing passes through the latchplate slot where the shoulder belt transitions to the lap belt. There appears to be insufficient clearance in the latchplate slot, allowing the webbing to slide easily in the tightening direction but not easily in the loosening direction. As a result, the belt continually tightens and specifically pulls the lap portion tighter, while slack cannot be easily fed back through the latchplate without excessive force. This creates a driver distraction because the belt must be forcibly loosened while driving to relieve pressure on the lap. When slack is created to restore comfort, the slack must be maintained because the belt will not easily slide back through the latchplate. …

I received notice late April from Nissan about this recall. I promptly scheduled an appointment to bring my vehicle in for repair. I was told parts were back ordered and would arrive early June. I have contacted the dealership (Vision Nissan of Greece, NY) and Nissan HQ to inquire and was told parts were on back order. I asked when parts would be available and was given no time estimate. I have to drive my vehicle from New York State to Texas for a move (over 2,000 miles) starting June 25 and I have serious concerns for my and my family's safety in the vehicle due to the recall. I would appreciate any assistance possible in getting this resolved. Thank you.
After an oil change at a Certified Nissan dealership, the left rear seat belt sensor was indicating on the dash board that someone was sitting in there and was strapped, so the light had a green check, but there was no one in that seat plus the seat belt was not even strapped. The next day, the front passenger seat belt also went awry. With no one in the seat, the seat belt sensor started beeping which means it believed someone was in that seat unstrapped, but again, no one was in it. I have only ownes the car for 4 months, the car is clean and there is no debris in the seat belt latch system. There is definitely something wrong with the seatbelt sensors.
We bought our 2021Nissan Rogue SE from Fuccillo Nissan of Clearwater, 15232 US-19, Clearwater, FL, [phone]) on May 5, 2021.Our Rogue had 400+ miles on the odometer at the time we received. On June 7, 2021 the air bag dash light came on. An appointment was made for service of the airbags on June 10, 2021. At the time of pick up the airbag dash light was off. It turned back on June 14, 2021. In a call to Fuccillo Service Department the service tech informed us that because the airbag dash light was on the airbags were disabled. We had a major trip planned to attend a wedding in PA that we were driving to. Since the airbags were disabled driving our Rogue on a 3000+ mile trip would not be safe. We were put in a position of renting a vehicle for our trip. On June 15, 2021 we left our Rogue at Fuccillo Nissan of Clearwater for repair of this safety issue. …
Car and driver reported early builds pre January 28th 2021 from the Japan plant recorded a 2 star safety rating on the passenger small overlap test. Nissan updated retrofitted the passenger airbag module software and seatbelt and was supposed to start a campaign to notify owners to have this done and we were never notified and Nissan is no help when you call and provide VIN. They only tell me no recalls on this VIN. Please note the assembly line builds were provided the retrofit after Jan28th 2021 in Japan builds and Smyrna Tenn builds were already updated before the first build came off the line. My wife's truck and this VIN qualifies with a build date of November 2020 from Japan's factory. Very concerned of the safety of any passenger in our truck and Nissan is dragging their feet and not taking this seriously I feel due to expense. …
The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the rear passenger's side occupant was unable to release the seat belt buckle. After an extended attempt to assist, the contact observed that the seat belt continued to tighten and would not release, prompting the contact to cut the seat belt strap. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 128,000.
We have 3 2020 Nissan Rogue SV's in our family. The rear seat belts do not stay up and are too short. We have reported this to the dealer, Gainesville Nissan, and all they say is we know it is a problem, but Nissan does not have a fix. We recently had friends in the car and the rear seatbelt could not be latched because the seat belt catch is too low in the seat to be used. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD RESULT IN AN IMMEDIATE RECALL BY NISSAN!!!!!!!!! This has happened since we purchased the car in December of 2019.
