What owners report

My car was sitting in a parking lot facing the south. It was over 100 degrees that day. I had a front window shade in the front window, and both front windows were down about 2 inches. I went to my car to grab something around 1:30pm and all was fine. When I cam back around 2:45 pm, the back window was shattered, with small pieces of glass laying on the ground. I called the local Nissan dealer, and they told me to bring it in so they could look at it. I taped it up and drove it to the dealer. They looked it over and could see that the glass had blown out. The mechanic that looked it over, said that based on the glass pressing out and not inward (rock or something hitting it, makes the glass press inward). The dealership put in a warranty claim on Friday and finally found out it was approved on Tuesday. The mechanic ordered the glass to be shipped overnight on Friday. …

While driving at highway speeds, the panoramic sunroof glass spontaneously exploded without any prior warning, impact, or rock strikes. The sudden, loud explosion caused severe driver distraction and panic, creating an immediate safety hazard on the highway. Additionally, shattered glass fragments fell onto the interior sunshade, posing a significant risk of lacerations to the occupants. The vehicle was immediately taken to an authorized Nissan dealership, where service technicians inspected the roof and found no evidence of external impact. A warranty case was opened with Nissan Corporate. The vehicle is currently sitting at my local Nissan dealership and is fully available for inspection. The dealer has taken photos (again) and submitted them to the manufacturer. …

On Oct 15th, 2025 in the afternoon my vehicle was parked at my work and back hatch windshield complete shattered. Many other vehicles parked in the same parking lot. No signs of any foul play. Called State Farm insurance and they called the auto glass repair shop to file a claim and have fixed. This could have been tragic if would have been driving possibly. No warning of any thing wrong with hatch/windshield. Vehicle may be looked at for inspection but it is to be fixed Oct 16th 2025. Pictures were taken and documented

The contact owns a 2024 Nissan Rogue. While driving approximately 45 MPH, the contact's eyes started burning, then the contact had a headache and muscle aches. The contact started feeling nauseous. The contact stated that the issue occurred every time the vehicle was driven. The contact was concerned that the air coming from the AC vents was causing the issues. Liftgate closes while people are still behind the car. When loading/unloading items from the back of the car, the liftgate will close on you while you are still behind the car. The gate pins you between it and the rear bumper. This issue is predictable and repeatable. The dealership/Nissan has not yet confirmed this is an issue and my personal vehicle has not been inspected for this particular issue. There are no warnings of any kind prior to, during, or after this issue occurs. I bought the car brand new and the issue presented itself the very first day I owned it.

The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving an undisclosed speed, there was a loud popping sound coming from the vehicle, and the children inside the vehicle discovered that the rear windshield glass had shattered. Neither the dealer nor an independent mechanic was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the liftgate needed to be replaced because the glass was stuck inside. The rear windshield glass was replaced by the insurance company. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 29,509.

> I purchased a 2023 Nissan Rogue brand new and it now has only 32,000 miles. It has a major water leak-flooding the interior through the lights, vents, and floor-yet Nissan won't cover it under warranty and State Farm denied my comprehensive claim. The vehicle has sat exposed for 3 weeks at the body shop during constant rain, worsening the damage. The car is now unsafe to drive. Nissan failed to disclosure valid and pertinent information regarding the limitations on their warranty coverage. Furthermore, Nissan failed to disclose maintenance guidelines for maintaining a sunroof. Additionally, regardless of any debris build-up, the size of the water lines are inadequate to hold large volumes of water at a given time. …
