Stopped at a stop sign and the passenger side seat headrest deployed. Luckily no one was sitting in the seat at the time. This car has the Neck Pro Active Front Head Restraints. The plastic that holds the headrest in place fails after time. There is a class action lawsuit against Mercedes and the manufacturer of the plastic piece Gammer I believe. This failure has caused injuries to people that have been sitting in the seat at the time of deployment for no reason. This is a safety hazard as if it goes off while driving can cause you to loose control of the car and injure anyone in the car as well as other people if you were to get in an accident with another vehicle. This should be a recall.

There was a recall on my front passenger air bag that was replaced around February 2020, based on a recall. The other day my Front Right Passenger Air Bag Malfunction Warning Signal appeared on the dash board. After bringing it into Mercedes Benz - I was notified that my Passenger Right Side Air Bag needed replacement. I was told it would cost $1,800 to replace. Shouldn't this be a part of the Air Bag Recall?

I received a letter from Mercedes in March 2017 that my vehicle needs to have it's air bag replaced. My dealer in Mercedes dealer in calabasas has had no approval or instructions to replace the bag at that time and is not replacing my airbag. I just spoke to Mercedes calabasas on 11/3/2017 with the same answer. Please replace my air bag...its been one year and I have been worried that my air bugs will not deploy. I was in an accident and no air bag deployment when someone backed into the front of my car while I was stationary. I buy an expensive car and I have to wait over a year for a defective air bag..this is unacceptable! The fact I have had this car since it was manufactured with a defective bag is not Mercedes way of doing business. I want the car replaced if the air bags aren't replaced immediately. I am putting my 13 year old daughter and family at r

Takata recall it has been a year since the notification of a side air bag defect which could injure or kill a passenger, and I have heard nothing from Mercedes Benz. The local dealer in sarasota, fl says they have no information regarding the replacement. If they are manufacturing vehicles with safe air bags, then why can't they fix mine?

I have been waiting three years for repair of the passenger airbag, Takata, that has been recalled. Passengers are afraid to drive in the vehicle, rightfully so. I think three years is more than enough time to accomplish a repair. I would like a repair.

"Takata recall" the airbag was recalled in January 2017 and there is still no remedy/replacement. I've already been driving around for 11 months with a defective airbag that could cost me my life. When are they going to be forced to resolve this?

Desiccated Air Bag Inflator Rupture

NHTSA investigation EA21002 · opened Sep 17, 2021 · open

From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited.
