Owner reports

Pulled into parking space. Applied brakes and came to a complete stop. Could hear engine revving up.. Thought ok, that gas pedal seem to be pressed. Look at my foot wasn't pressing the pedal. Looked at floor mats. It was laying flat on floor, not manipulating the pedal. I thought what's happening? And lifted foot off brake ever so slightly and car jumped 6 inch high curb and hit the building.. Pretty hard. Caused structural damage to the wall. I went to the hospital, driven by husband. Swelling of my right leg on the shin. Released and told to stay off leg for few days, no fractures. After doing research, It seems other jeep riders have had this experience. I have no idea how fast the jeep was going.
This vehicle is not suitable for driving, it has suspension, alignment, brake and speed problems. I was about to have an accident, I was going down an avenue and suddenly the wheels stopped and the car began to move from one side to the other and I lost stability of the steering wheel and the car, putting my life and the lives of my family (my girlfriend and my mother) at risk, luckily I did not cause an accident because there was no car in the side lane ... It is impossible to drive this car, the next day I took the car to a detailed inspection at a mechanical workshop specialized in Jeeps and indeed it has serious and serious problems with the car. There are images where the lights on the dashboard are on and the engine is also overheated ... For this reason, I decided to return the car to the dealer and file the report as evidence of this defective car and dangers to driving ...
This vehicle along with many others jeep wranglers have an issue with the abs control module. It has a code for internal processor fault. Some days the vehicle is fine and others it acts up and it won't shift gears or the abs system activates by itself or the speedometer doesn't work. This has been going on for almost a year now because there is no parts aviable to fix it. The dealer keeps saying it's in engineering review but they been saying that for almost a year now. That's how long mine has been acting up. My wife won't even drive it with the kids in the car because she doesn't know when it is going to act up. Luckly I only work 5 miles from my house so I've been driving it. If they know there's an issue with these modules they should be doing something faster to fix it or there should be a recall. Something needs to be done.
Vehicle reflects a code of C2200. It is due to a faulty ABS module that controls the antilock brake system, traction w and cruise control. The remedy is to replace the part (part number 68259556AD). This part has been on national back order for several years now with no anticipated date of release. The manufacturer has Indicated it will not be made. This is a safety item that not only affects the performance of the vehicle but limits it resale value. Numerous vehicles from 2011-2017 models have been affected.
ABS modulator not working in jeep. Warning lights on dash currently are: ABS, traction control and brake light. Jeep dealer confirmed ABS modulator is defective. Unable to replace/repair due to backordered item as of 11/24. Stated possibly not available until 2/25. Jeep will randomly not shift gears while driving, speedometer not working, gas pedal sticking occasionally, rough braking with brake pedal shaking when braking. When shifting into Park vs Drive or reverse the jeep will jerk/lunge forward.
The ABS control module has internal problem which shuts down the module. Results of the module shut down includes: -The stability and traction systems are offline. -A failure in the ABS module or hydraulic unit. -Cruise Control inoperable. -The module no longer modulates brake pressure, which can result in brakes locking. Currently, Mopar has stopped production of this item, so there is no method to replace a failed or non-working module with an original part.
2016 Jeep JK 3.6l v6 Symptoms brake warning light, abs warning light, traction control warning light on. Cruise control will not function with the above warning lights. Diagnosis: faulty abs module per obd2. Additional problem is the unavailability from Chrysler for the replacement part which affects many Jeep model years. ABS Module has been on backorder since 2021. Cannot get an ETA on part from the dealership. They advised its been on backorder 3 yrs at the time issue was confirmed. 9 months to date on backorder list. No traction control, ABS, cruise control and emergency brake. The vehicle has lost speed making it not maintain a speed on hills, and highway. Vehicle feels unstable.
The ABS control module has malfunctioned which lead to the ABS, traction control, and parking brake light coming on while driving. This is a safety concern due to a malfunction with these systems. These systems are meant to help control the vehicle when either sliding or braking quickly. An OBD scan tool was used, which read the code C2200 to confirm the malfunction.
ABS module reported to dealer in February, 2025..They said was safe to drive. Then April 2025 the module went out.-Part has been on backorder since March 2025. It was taken to Key Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Marianna in March 2025. Jeep would not steer properly, the brakes were not normal and all the warning lights on dash were on. I could not drive. .
