What owners report
I purchased a brand new 2025 Jeep Compass Latitude, and shortly after, I started getting repeated error messages for several safety features, lane departure unavailable, blind spot monitoring unavailable, auto high beam unavailable, and automatic emergency braking unavailable. These warnings appear randomly: sometimes as soon as I start driving, other times 5-10 minutes later, or even after 30 minutes to an hour of driving. There's no consistent pattern, and when they activate, all the affected systems stop functioning until I restart the vehicle. I've taken the vehicle to the dealership three times for this issue. The first time, I was told there was nothing they could do because no active code showed at that moment. The second time, they said they couldn't look at it because they had no loaner available. The third time, I left it for nearly two weeks. …
The adaptive cruise, automatic emergency braking, and forward collision warning turns off randomly and the warning lights come on saying they are not working and to take it to the dealership. This has happened around 8 to 10 times. The first being under 1000 miles. I took it to the dealership then and they said nothing was wrong and I need to keep the sensors clean. It makes no difference if the car is just washed or dirty. I'll be driving on a city street or highway and all of a sudden the warning lights are on. Sometimes they go off by themselves. Sometimes after I turn off the car they are on but when restarted they are off. Finally tonight about 5:45 on the highway multiple warning lights went on. Engine, all safety warnings, transmission warning, overheating warning. I pull over and all the transmission fluid began to pour out onto the highway. …
The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while reversing at nighttime, the rearview camera displayed a dark image of the space that the vehicle was reversing into, reducing the driver's ability to see the roadway. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to another dealer for a second opinion, and the contact was informed that the vehicle was operating like other similar vehicles. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was operating as designed. The contact stated that the failure persisted while reversing, and the rearview camera image was not bright enough while reversing at night. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A case was filed with the manufacturer, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 5,300.
Active lane management jerked me off the road disabled my forward and rear crash detection sensor and my automatic high beams were disabled all simultaneously without warning or any sign scared me and my family since then my forward crash section is permanently on and will not go off I have no active lane management it disabled and said service and for the past 2 weeks has been nothing but electrical failure after electrical failure my dealership says there nothing they can do except clear the codes and reboot the system and see if that helps (we did that it didn't work either) so I feel like I'm paying for something that has only lasted me 17,000 miles and is about to quit because the computer in it or something is causing my jeep to be unsafe
On my way to work this morning 4:30 ish the same way I always take. My car decided to drive itself, every light on the middle console lit up, and the dashboard. I was going 50 when my car completely lost control while I tapped my brakes no response its locked, my steering wheel locked up, my brakes locked everything went haywire it would not let me steer or even shift to neutral all I could do was pray it stopped while it flipped off the road around 5:14 am with me still trapped inside. My seat belt wouldn't release my doors wouldn't unlock and my windows wouldn't roll down I was trapped breathing in airbag fumes for an hour until help finally came. They had to cut the windshield open to save me. I have no idea what went wrong but I could've died or have been burned to death my car acted like it went under water and not over it. …
