What owners report

The problem is reoccurance in short periods of time. I had an alignment done at 14,000 miles, then at about 20,000 miles when the tires were replace. Now, the car has 34,000 miles and requires another alignment due to excessive tire wear on the inner portion of the tire. The car has only been driving under normal driving conditions for the area; 95% highway driving. There haven't been any impacts to anything which could cause the alignment to fail this horribly so frequently. This is the only car I have ever owned that has ever needed an alignment three times in a one year timeframe. Independent service centers reproduced the first two times. The first time the mechanic informed me that it was mechanically impossible to get the car within Jeep's aligment specifications without aftermarket parts. …

Car was shaking violently and was steadily getting worse. Automatic light dimmer had malfunctioned resulting in several instances of being pulled over. Luckily never got a citation. Started chewing the rear tires off from the first 3k miles dealer never would address the problem. Had to voluntary surrender the vehicle cause we couldn't pay for it and not have a driving vehicle

2025 Compass · May 2026

I purchased this car in August 2024 used. In April 2025 I took it to the dealer, Mc Peek Dodge in Anaheim for clicking noises while turning either direction and Drivers front side wheel sound like its wobbly. They replaced both half axles. Again the vehicle made the same noise about a month later. I took it back in May. They replaced them again. This year in May I took it back and had it for 2 days and never looked at it. So I called Jeep customer care and they said take it elsewhere. I went to Premiere Jeep in Buena Park. They kept it for a week and replaced the left half axle again. They said the wobbly noise must be from my brake rotor and wanted to charge me $550 to resurface and reinstall the same rotor. I declined since the noise is constant and not when I'm braking. The vehicle is again making the same noise. Especially when I'm turning left. …

2022 Compass · Mar 2025

Aggressive premature tire wear on the inner section of the tire tread on a 2022 Jeep Compass (purchased December 2022). Mostly on the front tires, similar slight evidence on rear tires. Alignment was investigated in March 2025 by commercial repair service center (not dealership). Alignment is within factory specifications. Service manager only recommended replacing the front two tires, as there was nothing they could do for the alignment - pictures attached of front tires. Back tires were rotated to front position with new tires mounted in the rear. Five months later front tires now need replaced with mileage at approximately 28,000 miles. Internet search for similar issue has overwhelming number of complaints documented by other owners across the U.S. and Canada. All complaining of replacing tires due to perceived alignment issues from the manufacturer.

2020 Compass · 66,000 miles · Feb 2024

While turning out of a parking lot, onto a side street, a suspension component failed without warning, causing the front axle to pull out of the transmission. The vehicle immediately became unsafe, as I was unable to turn the wheel (it wasn't connected) to get me out of the middle of the road. This was a sudden, catastrophic mechanical failure with no prior warning lights, messages, or symptoms. It had to be towed. I called a corporate phone number, to create a case number, and heard back from Jeep Autonation immediately. The gentleman who spoke to me, was extremely rude, and told me this was a normal wear and tear situation, and just to "bring it in so they could get to fixing it." I believe a full diagnostic report is necessary, and I'd like to know WHY this failed. I was on the highway just earlier the morning that this happened. …
