Date of Accident: April 13, 2026 I drove into our church parking lot and then parked next to my husband's car and was totally stopped and in the parking space. I thought I had my foot on the brake. After a split second, it accelerated and jumped the curb of the parking space at a very fast speed. I had no control of the car. I sheared off a heavy metal sidewalk railing and was headed for the brick church (church is on a berm above parking lot), but I managed to steer away to miss the church and a large tree. I steered off the berm and into empty parking lot - still traveling at high speed. I finally threw it into neutral to get it to stop because it was continuing toward a busy street with lots of traffic. Neutral stopped it. No air bags deployed. The front and side of the car that hit the metal railing sustained $6,500 damage. Towed it to collision repair. …
On 3/17/26, my husband and I started heading N on RT 83 to a medical appointment in our 2025 Honda CR-V Touring Sport. We were doing between 40 to 50 miles/hr. Twenty minutes later, we smelled faint smoke which was attributed to the trucks driving around us. Upon exit to our next route we immediately came to a red light and stopped and found heavy dark smoke coming from inside the front of our hood. We slowly moved to the R lane to get to a strip parking lot to move vehicle to a safe spot. When we finally found a safe parking a vehicle stopped to alert us of a noticeable fire at the bottom front of the Honda. We jumped out and 911 was called. By the time Police, followed by the Fire Dept, the front of my CR-V was engulfed by fire. I had just purchased this 2025 Touring Sport from Carmax 6 months earlier and it had just 7091 miles to it. …
While pulling into a parking spot and coming to a stop, the brakes failed and the car abruptly accelerated forward despite attempts to continue braking. The car proceeded over the curb and raised hilly grassy median and only came to a stop when it collided with a parked vehicle on the other side of the median. I, as the driver, had no control of the vehicle and could have potentially hit a pedestrian in this parking lot. There was a person seated in the car that my car impacted and she could have been hurt as well as myself and my passenger. All of this was reported to the community service officer who came to the scene, as well as to the Coggin collision center, Coggin Honda dealership and my insurance company. My insurance company has sent an appraiser to the collision center but he did not investigate the causative factors, only the body damage so far. …
As I was pulling into a parking space inside a parking structure, ground floor, my car suddenly accelerated, jumped the curb, going through landscape hedge and landing on front hood of a parked vehicle outside of the parking structure. I heard the engine accelerate, but had no way of stopping or controlling the car. A very similar accident took place in this car on [redacted]. Same situation: pulling into a parking space, car suddenly accelerates; no way to stop vehicle in time to avoid accident. A separate incident report has been submitted to nhtsa.gov on June 11, 2026
Experienced a sudden unintended acceleration while parking the vehicle. Right front tire climbed up on a parking barrier (shortened telephone pole) and damaged the right front bumper. No warning or trouble lights were on at that time, however, after restarting vehicle and heading home approximately half a mile down the road, all the warning and trouble lights came on, the steering wheel started shaking and the car wasn't drivable. We have no idea if there is concealed damage underneath the vehicle. We called Honda roadside assistance and they came and took the vehicle to the closest Honda dealership. At this time, we're waiting to hear from them.
As I was pulling into a parking space, the car suddenly accelerated, ran through bushes, down a slope across a sidewalk hitting a city utility box. and jumped the curb finally stopping on the street. no other vehicles were involved and no injuries. I did not report at the time of the incident, because I thought I must have done something wrong. However a similar event occurred on May 29, 2026 (See Complaint #11743489) which leads me to believe there may be a defect in the car.
I was driving to the mailbox today and the car revved forward and the steering became hard to control and steer. This is the second incident. When I originally reported to the Supervisong Service agent at my Honda of Katy, Mr. John Kasimoff, he dismissed it since the "check engine light" did not turn off. He and the staff at Honda of Katy discouraged me from bringing in the car. I am afraid to drive the car in Texas. A car is necessary for my livelihood and to get around. Food shopping and to buy simple basic necessities require an automobile and can no longer afford taking Ubers and depend on the kindness of friends to assist me with deliveries and other transportation. The recall came merely days after purchasing my new car and it's suspect to me that no one at the dealership was unaware of ongoing issues when they keep contacting me about purchasing. …
My 2025 Honda CRV Hybrid seems to randomly accelerate on its own. This has happened at least 4 or 5 times over the past year. At first I thought I was imagining it but then I noticed it happened again, multiple times. Each time I was NOT pressing the gas pedal nor at any time was I using cruise control. I never use the cruise control. The vehicle seems to accelerate on its on for about 3-4 seconds then stops when I press the break. Clearly uncontrollable and unexpected acceleration of the vehicle puts me, my passengers and others are at risk. I called my local Honda Dealer Service Department and was told that unless I can recreate the random and spontaneous acceleration at the dealership then they won't be able to diagnosis or write for the issue. …
I am reporting a potential safety recall violation by Honda Mall of Georgia (3699 Buford Dr, Buford, GA 30519). My vehicle experienced engine noise, vibration, and warning indicators, which the dealership attributed to 'fuel contamination' to deny warranty coverage (attached), and charged approximately $3,392.99 for repairs. However, I have a certified laboratory analysis (attached) from the Georgia Department of Agriculture confirming the fuel met all state quality standards and had no contamination at Costco Gas. Costco also provided supporting document (attached) that there was no contamination and there were no other customers reporting such issue. The vehicle required a second repair (attached) for the engine issue immediately after the first, further proving the failure was not 'bad fuel' related. …
Honda 2025 CR-V AWD. Fuel Mileage decreased from 31 MPG to 22 MPG on [xxx] on [redacted] Highway Trip leaving Vernon Hills, Illinois with Cruise Control and Economy Mode Set. There was no Engine Performance Problem and no errors were indicated. The car dashboard displayed the average mileage as 22-23 MPG while leaving our hotel and stayed that way most of the day. So the decreased fuel mileage most likely was a fuel leak. Then late in the day, the fuel mileage increased back to 26 MPG. Poor fuel mileage with a small fuel tank is dangerous on [xxx] in Kansas and Eastern Colorado. This is due to the wide distances between fuel stops. There really is nothing out there due to lack of water. If fuel was leaking, that is also a fire hazard. Took to car to dealer for diagnosis. No fault was found. …
