I have a 2006 Honda Civic GX compressed natural gas vehicle. The problem with the vehicle is the compressed natural gas cylinder that holds the fuel. The cylinders are only certified for a period of time 15 or 20 years. After that the cylinders are considered expired and must be replaced. Once they are expired, they cannot be recertified. The problem I encountered is a complete lack of knowledge of proper maintenance procedures even by Honda dealers that are certified to work on natural gas vehicles (NGV). See Honda Service Bulletin 06-015 1998-2015 Civic GX All and US Dept of Energy, Alternative Fuels Data Center - CNG Fuel System and Tank Maintenance. From the time I bought the vehicle in 2006 until 2024 I regularly took it to a certified Honda NGV service dealer. At no time did they perform any required NGV safety checks. …
My fuel tank all of a sudden started leaking. It all started as a gradual issue. Very random and unusual. I always get this car serviced. Honda denies any part of the defect and was informed car does not qualify any warranty at 93k miles. Tank had cracked and this is unusual for a lightly driven car. First signs were gas fumes all over the garage. Consumer had a local shop check the car there were no leaks. Consumer had 0.5 of the tank filled.

The ac has stopped working the heater does not blow out hot air,the air bag light has came on ,&now the car started to overheated an now will not start at all now...the oil light has came on ...when the car was running the transmission was not shifting correctly....
A female ran a red light speeding at 55 MPH in a 30 MPH zone ripping off my entire bumper putting a dent on the top of my hood on the driver side and my airbag never came out! Before I seen on the news about the recalls, my airbag warning signals always come on and stay on for long periods of time before they go off and this had happen several times!
Request for issuance of recall. 2006 Civic: engine does not start, and the immobilizer system makes car inoperable, especially if the battery recently went dead and the engine was jump-started. The dome light in my car, 2006 Civic ex sedan, was left on the and battery was dead, and then car was jump started. After that the immobilizer system prevented the car from starting. 1. This is a well-known design defect (Honda defect code: 03217) reported in many, many postings and comments on the internet, over many years, from 2006 until recently, both here in the U.S. And in the uk. See extracts from numerous internet reports in attachment (internet reports - problem.docx). 2. There is no warning about this problem or information in the owner's manual for this car, or any notification from Honda, on the correct way to jump start the car to avoid the problem. …
Honda Civic ima system not functioning properly while driving, leading to loss of power when critically needed, possibly causing an accident. The car completely stalled in traffic, ima light, check engine light, brake system light were all on, car would restart, but would not let take out of park to get out of traffic! Very very dangerous. I have complained about this hybrid battery giving me problems before-- not holding a charge, almost every time I start the car, the ima battery shows depleted, even though it was charged when I left the car the night before, and often it will go from fully charged to dead in a matter of 1 mile of driving on flat roadway, causing the engine to be very sluggish and not have power when needed. Honda would not do anything, they just kept making excuses. There are many many people complaining about the same thing. …
I have a 2006 Honda Civic hybrid. For the past six or so months sometimes when I attempt to accelerate after a stop or after slowing down the ima battery indicator will drop to 1 or no bars within a second or two. While this is happening and for at least 1 minute afterward I have almost no power and can barely accelerate. The loss of power is so bad that I have narrowly avoided crashes. This happens randomly, but more and more frequently. When it does happen, my mpg also drops quite a bit. Since it is impossible to predict it makes driving very hazardous. I have also noticed that the car is not going into auto-stop as often as it should be. I have taken the car to two Honda dealerships and both have said that they can't "duplicate" the problem and that no "codes" are coming up. The first dealership did nothing. …
Honda has performed a software update on my 2006 Civic hybrid. The results are tantamount to having replaced my car with another that has markedly inferior response, performance, and gas mileage: * about 10 mpg decrease since the 8/4/2010 ima software update * rare iva assist on starting from 0, resulting in a noticeable lag between depressing the gas pedal and movement from a stopped position - this is a safety issue. * responsiveness of acceleration at highway speeds inconsistent and unpredictable - since this affects driver reaction and responsiveness this is a safety issue note: the software update renders the electric motor practically moot. Since in my case the battery drops its charge radically over a 24 hour period if not used, the update appears to be doing little more than preventing an already compromised battery from failing.
I have a Honda Civic 2006 (lease) this car has 2 recall one on 8/30/07 and on 11/07 but the dealer never sent me any warning, note, letter or call to notify this situation, I read that by fed law they should contact me and let me know the ricks that this issue can cause me. I called because I had a problem with my car keys code and they told about this and they said sorry because they do not know why I was not notify about this I very disappointed because that is very dangerous and I do not get notify at all, I had 3 cars with the Honda all 3 are lease cars so it is not excuse that they cannot contact me also I am living t the same place for more than one year and I got my Honda bill every month.
