The contact owns a 2012 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormally strong fuel odor detected. The contact pulled over and parked the vehicle, and became aware that there was fuel leaking onto the ground. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the fuel line needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 171,026.
It has happened more than once since 3 years ago. If I'm running my AC in the car, when I accelerate the car will skip/jump. It's extremely expensive to repair and the problem isn't even getting fixed. I basically can't run my AC if it's hot outside
On approximately 10 occasions, after refueling the Honda Civic gx (natural gas) vehicle, the car would start up and travel no more than 100 yards from the filling station. The gas gauge reads empty even though the tank is full. There are pressure regulators and safety valves that open up with a thunk sound when the car is started after filling. In each case when the car has stalled, the valves/regulators do not open up with the thunk sound. This has been happening for the last 1.5 years with the 2012 Civic gx. There is no pattern to when this occurs or doesn't, but, it usually happens in a cluster of times and then goes away for 5-6 months. Reading online forums, this seems to happen to vehicles that are much older and Honda's only solution is to replace the valves and regulators. As my vehicle is still under warranty, they have been reluctant to do anything. …
On 3/15/2019 I was driving on a city street when multiple warning lights illuminated (check engine, brake malfunction, ima battery, charging malfunction). The car was towed to the dealership. Once there, they determine that the problem was related to rodents chewing from wires which damaged the fuel line and ima system. After this was repaired, the car still had failure codes due to mechanical issues with the car's system. Troubleshooting LED the technician to determine that the motor power inverter needed to be replaced. This required them to also have to replace the junction board. After they were installed, the ima light stayed on, the battery would not charge, and the car continued to recode. They had to put in a test mcm and a second mpi (since the first one malfunctioned as well). This occurred over the course of almost two months. …
Car was driven approx 3 miles then was parked for approx. 10 minutes. When returning to the car fire trucks were at the car putting out the fire. The entire engine compartment caught on fire. Car was destroyed. Kearny, nj police report #[redacted] stated that they (tow truck operator and the police officer) observed a broken fuel line. I found out about the recall for fuel delivery system after the fire. My friend and I went to the dealer, garden state Honda on river road in passaic and saw the manager. He stated that he would not talk to us if either one of us was an attorney. We gave him a binder with a series of 8.5 x 11 photos of the car and copies of the recall found on the internet. A rep called to tell me that the matter was between the insurance company (allstate) and Honda USA. …

The car loses power when going up hills and has stalled twice. If I lightly bump the shift while driving it goes into neutral. I must use the emergency brake when parked even on a flat surface or the car will roll.
We have had the high pressure fuel line replaced twice which is very expensive (labor). I can google and see recalls on this model, however, when I search it says no recalls.
I did not receive a recall for fuel system. My car was manufactured on May 2011 and I have been having problems with gas cap light on.
