Engine Block Cracked. Coolant all leaked out of water jacket. (concurrent with TSB 10-048) Yes it is available for inspection. Car Over Heated, while traveling at speed. Manufacturer is denying inspection. No warning lamps, or lights.
Vehicle would not start. Car engine cracked which is a safety issue and known issue to Honda for this model and year of the Civic. I had my three kids, including an infant in the car. Took it to Honda where they explained that there was an extended warranty that we had just missed. My car is in impeccable shape with low mileage (80,000). Honda refused to cover the engine crack in full (expecting us to play 3,000), stating that we were not loyal Honda customers as our other car was a Toyota. The car had recently been serviced by Honda and the airbag recall was fixed. At that point, they should have communicated to us regarding the engine and the changes to warranty based on the known issue.
Steam blurred my vision while driving on a city street at low speed in my 2007 Civic from an apparent cracked engine block leaking coolant on hot engine from a known manufactures defect of engine blocks produced in the factory for the years 2006 to 2009 civics 1.8l engine . The bulletin # was 10 048 TSB. Car is over the age cutoff for the free new engine from hinda. So I am stuck with an unsafe broken car from the companies defect per Honda corp. Representatives.
I financed a 2007 Honda Civic on July 30 2025, this car has a faulty fuel pump from Roseville car group. There is no check engine light on, this just appeared this afternoon Aug 2nd 2025.
The integrated motor assist (ima) system on my 2007 Honda Civic hybrid has been malfunctioning on a daily basis since the weather has been greater than 90 degrees this year. The system behaves erratically without warning, causing an extreme decrease in the hybrid motor battery charge and overall vehicle power at unexpected times. This loss of power causes a significant change in the anticipated performance of the vehicle, including the lack of sufficient power to overtake a vehicle (pass) or to maintain a safe speed relative to other cars when on an incline, without a significant increase in the gas engine RPM. Additionally, the ability to accelerate from a stop at a comparable rate to other vehicles is not possible without the assistance of the ima, causing unexpected backups of traffic behind my vehicle. …
2007 Civic hybrid with 46000 mi, the ima btry is very weak, and Honda refuses to honor their 80000 mi warranty. For the 1st two years the mileage was 51.3 mpg. Now it has dropped to 39 - 42 mpg, and the ima battery rarely boosts the car during acceleration. This is dangerous when entering an interstate hwy, and even pulling out of my housing development onto the 45 MPH road beside us. Engine rarely stops when stopped at a traffic light, which it used to do all of the time. Both local Honda dealer and Honda of America say they cannot replace battery until the computer gives a code saying it needs to be replaced. Thus I paid several thousand dollars extra for a car that does not save much gas and is unsafe to drive. If I drive locally with no A/C, the ima system will show 6 or 7 squares of charge when I park it. …
On August 31, 2017 while I was driving on the highway, the car stopped running and smoke came out of the hood suddenly. Fortunately I managed to pull over the car to a safe place immediately beside the highway otherwise I would have been in a fatal situation. I had the car towed to the dean Honda at pittsburgh where they performed the diagnosis to find the root cause of the problem. They identified that there was crack in the engine block which has caused the coolant to leak from the engine and hence overheating of the engine has happened. They told me that the engine has to be replaced and few other parts as well (like spark plug etc.) to make the car running again which would cost me around $4000. …
When engine is warm and car is at idle (either when stopped at traffic light or when parking before shutdown) and you open/close sun roof and/or power windows the rpms dip, car shakes, and engine almost stalls before rpms recover to normal idle. This has happened at least two dozen times and started happening soon after taking delivery. At approx 400 miles car was taken into dealer and dealer was able to reproduce the problem on my vehicle and also reproduced the problem on other new civics on dealer lot. Dealer reset PCM and performed idle relearn procedure. This did not resolve the problem. Dealer reported to Honda engineering and they had no knowledge of issue and offered no advice. Additionally at approx 600 miles after car sat unused all day and when attempting to start later that night, the car did not start on first attempt. …

Under humid conditions, the main battery of this hybrid suddenly drains, leaving the car without the electric motor. In this vehicle, this means that there is very limited torque (normally supplied by the electric motor). This first occurred in the summer of 2007 and has continued with increasing frequency to the present time. This brought to the attention of the selling dealership (southern motors of savannah) in August of 2007 and at the end of September of the same year. They claimed they could find nothing wrong despite being shown photographic evidence of the failure. The car was returned to the dealership on August 8, 2008 with further proof of the problem. The have claimed that they contacted American Honda and were told that Honda was aware of the problem but had found no solution. The car was returned to me on August 27, 2007 with the condition unresolved.

On certain compressed natural gas (cng) vehicles, in the event of a severe interior fire in the area of the rear seat, the cng tank May be heated unevenly, preventing the pressure relief device from venting the contents of the tank as designed.
Remedy: Dealers will install a heat insulator material to the rear seat back. An interim owner letter was mailed to owners beginning November 26, 2007.
