The driver side passenger "door ajar" sensor stays on constantly and is unsafe because we aren't sure if the door is truly open or not? We are scared to have passengers sit on that side of the vehicle for fear of the door flying open and causing injury by falling out or other injury because the sensor does not tell us accurately as to whether the door is truly closed all the way or not. It also drains the battery over time due to constantly being on. This problem has been going on for 2 years. We had it looked at by a mechanic. We were told they can replace the sensor, but it would likely go out again because this is a manufacturer defect, and a well known problem for Ford Edges as well as other Ford models, but they refuse to issue a recall. This is EXTREMELY UNSAFE. The other safety concern I have is the need for a recall on our VIN SPECIFIC rear view camera. …
The first issue I am having is that the vehicle is telling me to put my car in park when it's already in park. This has been going on for many months now. My second issue is when I fill my tank to full and try to start it, it has a hard time turning over. This has been going on for many months now. My third issue is that my front wipers will not turn off no matter what I do. And it's been weeks. The fourth issue I have is that two of my tires keep leaking air since I have purchased a vehicle from the dealership and I have had it in and they claim they sealed it but they are still leaking. So I constantly have to fill them up with air. This has been going on since I bought it from the dealership.
The rear view camera intermittently does not work. It is unsafe to rely on it for reversing, and fails me for a state inspection in Maine. I had brought it to the dealer, and they stated other models have a recall for this, but my VIN is not listed. It does not give a warning, when it does not work the screen goes black and says 'camera unavailable, see dealer ' This quote is 863.31 before taxes
The rear view camera image suddenly became inverted (upside down) and the guide lines normally displayed disappeared. This defect appears permanent. Due tot the camera malfunction it is easy to be disoriented and collide with object behind the vehicle. On several occasions I ran into parking lot dividers and planters.
The sunroof rails guides broke and its not being hold by the rail guides. The broken pieces are just floating free. Feels like if i take highway the paranomic glass will swing open and cause an accident. Im really concern for my family or any passanger. I believe its a default from ford for not being well engeneeeed.
Rear view (back up) camera works only on and off. The screen goes black and a warning to contact the dealer shows up. It is getting more and more frequent lately. I am having a very hard time in crowded parking lots. Now it has stopped completely.
My 2013 Ford Edge has been having issues with the driver's door latch sensor. The sensor does not work properly and the vehicle computer is constantly thinking that my door is ajar. It illuminates the interior lights causing distractions and safety issues for me trying to drive and other drivers around me, especially since I work 3rd shift and do a lot of nighttime driving. It has drained my battery numerous times due to it setting my alarm off intermittently because it all of the sudden thinks my door is open when I have it parked. I have read so many complaints of this issue. This should have been a recall by Ford years ago as this is a safety hazard. Ford sent a letter out stating that they would do a one-time courtesy fix for people having this problem, however, they listed requirements for mileage and age of vehicle that you had to meet to have them fix it. …
