On 4/9/12 I was involved in a serious accident that resulted in my daughter obtaining a severe traumatic brain. She was in critical condition and is now severely disabled. The back curtain airbags did not protect her and did not appear to work properly. I believe that the vehicle was not properly examined after the accident. The car was a rental vehicle and my family was out of state on vacation. Due to the severe injury of my daughter I believe that the airbags failed.
Vehicle would lose power. First problem was while at the gas station with my children (age 4 and 1) and with the key in the cup holder, the doors locked on their own. I had to call my husband to bring spare key. The next issue was the vehicle battery drained and had to get jumped. The last issue was the vehicle would not turn on. All of the lights turned on but would not crank over.Took it to my local dealership and was advised that the TIPM failed.

Vehicle invoved in accident on fwy, collision did over $6500 in damage. But the airbags never deployed. From looking thru internet I see that probs with the TIPM can cause airbags not to deploy when needed. Have had other issues with TIPM such as veh not starting on numerous occasions.
Had minor frontal impact and no air bags were deployed but my van burst into flames/fire on the right(passenger) side engine compartment immediately after the minor impact.we saw red liquid running down the curb as we got out of the burning van. This van was totaled by the fire. There was no fixing this van by the time the fire dept. Got there. This is a big safety problem with this van![redacted] we could have lost our lives, my granddaughter and I .I looked a long time to find what I wanted on my van. Now it has been taken from me because of a big safety problem. Hard time finding one that has all equipment like my Chrysler t & c limited loaded. Now really scared to by another Chrysler van. We had 2 previous Dodge vans. I have pics of this van on fire, being hooked up to wrecker and at the tow lot burnt.

Persistent electrical motor sound emanated from rear of car after parking and powering off (continued after removal of keys). Next day battery was dead, jump started engine with difficulty. Drove for several hours, but again would not start after it was shut off. Mechanic diagnosed faulty totally integrated power module, replaced at a cost of nearly $1,500. After replacement of TIPM, new issue of airbag indicator light is on and several 12-volt power ports inside the car no longer work, both new conditions since TIPM replacement.
