What owners report
Vehicle experiences sudden Auto-Park engagement, hard shifting, and loss of gear engagement. Code P0700 present. Issue began after A/C compressor failure. Safety risk includes sudden deceleration and loss of control."
I brought a 2019 Chrysler 300 in July 2019, in September 2019 my wife was backing out of the driveway, she said the car suddenly accelerated without warning. She stated that she pressed the brake and it didn't stop the car. It continued to accelerate until it finally stopped after going up an incline into the neighbor's yard and hit a tree. The vehicle's LCD screen has become delaminated which causes the control of the radio, air conditioning, navigation, and other features controlled by the "radio" portion of the car to become dysfunctional. The car will randomly beep, change air temperatures, start navigation, cause the loss of hands-free communication. This is a safety hazard as it causes the driver to be distracted in order to attend to the incessant beeping and issues related to AC/heat, navigation or radio (volume, etc.). My fuel gage is now not operating correctly. I have filled the tank up over 3 times and it only shows 3/4 of a tank.
I continue to smell gas on the left rear side of the car. Car is stationary when I smell gas. I washed car any gas tank and under car thinking I May have waste gas when fueling. Still smelled gas after I returned home. Will be taking to dealership Monday. This has been going on for about two weeks.
Filling up the gas results in a strong odor of gas in the cabin and gas leaking out of the right rear wheel well. Also caused the engine to sputter and turn off. Found content in the https://www.300cforums.com/ forum that speaks of the issue.
When ac is on there is a strong odor of gasoline every time we turn ac on or if the car is in use for a long time the odor is very strong in the car, since this issue started the car has been using more gasoline and I have to fill up the tank more times than usual. My car is still under manufactures warranty and I scheduled a service with Chrysler to have it checked out but they did not want to take the vehicle in to a service tech because no engine light or no code was present\. I have tried to get them to inspect the fuel lines to check if there is a leak or have them check the ac to see if they can find the cause of the strong odor that we get with the ac on but have had no luck. I am to the point that I am worried for my health and my children's health due to the strong gasoline odor.
Main Fuel Pump and accompanied electrical connect. The fuel pump and electrical wiring harness is available upon request. My safety was at risk due to a faulty electrical connection inside the fuel tank. My vehicle made a loud hmming sound at a stop sign, upon continuing forward the vehicle shut off randomly. Upon inspection, the fuel was not sending to the engine. We bought a new fuel pump and replaced at the side of the road. When inspecting the OEM fuel pump and accompanied electrical connection, we noticed over heated wiring and melts plastic inside the fuel tank on the underside of the fuel pump, as well as burnt connections on the outside of the fuel tank on the tip side of the fuel pump. We have pictures to support. No warning signs, signals, or lights were present at the time of failure. …
Took my car to the dealer to have the fuel pump replaced. Car was repaired and picked up only to have it returned for a fuel leak complaint. Dealership said there was no leak nor evidence of a leak, however, the car is leaking fuel. After my experience I searched for any information on this topic and found others that have had a similar issue with the repair/complaint. This has not been resolved after a call to the dealership owner.
