What owners report
When driving this vehicle at speeds between 15-25 MPH on both streets and highways the front suspension generates a sound that relates to worn bushings or a 'loose'struts. The dealership has worked on this issue. They acknowledge there is a problem, but has not resolved same. Chrysler is aware of the issue with my vehicle and apparently with other vehicles in this 300 model. They have placed this problem on a 'star' list and are telling me the problem will have to get worse before any further corrections will be addressed. This vehicle was purchased from this dealership and I am the only owner of this car. Technicians have ridden with me in the car and confirm the ' loose sound' is present. They apparently do not have a reliable solution!
Tl* the contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that the suspension and alignment were off on the front and rear wheels. The failure caused the contact to replace the tires twice within a year due to excessive treadwear. The contact stated that the tires were cambered out more to the right instead of straight and flushed with the vehicle. The dealer marty cancila Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram (2175 n highway 67, florissant, mo 63033, [phone]) recommended an alignment and a new set of tires. The manufacturer had not been contacted yet. The failure mileage was 60,000.
My 2014 Chrysler 300 has loud clunking, thudding noise when travelling over rough roads or going over a small bump. The noise sounds as though something is about to fall off. I have taken the vehicle into the dealership to be assessed and it was determined that I would have to replace the shocks, struts, tie rods and brushels to alleviate the problem. I was given a estimation of $3000.00 dollars to correct the problem. It was during this time that it was discovered that muffler exhaust pipe had rusted and come apart thus calling the car to sound as loud as an 18 wheeler. I was informed by the mechanic that this was a common problem with this car and the Dodge charger . The repair cost on this was estimated to be 800.00 - 1100.00 dollars alone. …
1. While driving at normal speeds my car seems to struggle shifting into gear. It also makes clunking sounds going up hill. Today I accelerated to get onto the highway and the vehicle made a loud noise for a few seconds and finally got up to speed. 2. My vehicle also has a factory rust proofing and the quarter panels are showing large spots of rust on the front and rear of the vehicle.
1:driving home when I looked up and saw sparks coming from under my car, lost steering and slowed down to guard rail before an exit ramp on highway. My wheel and control arm came off the vehicle which happened at 5200 miles. 2:as I was driving on the highway my vehicle shut down causing me to lose power and get stranded on the highway not able to move which caused me to get rear ended at 65 MPH. This was at 18K miles. Recall came out after accident.
The under side of the front end of the car - including all suspension - control arms/bushings are completely rusted/dry rotted out on the car. The drivers side lower control arm needs to be replaced and the car only has 40,000 miles. This was first brought to our attention at 30,000 miles that there was a ton of rust on all the components. Went in for an alignment and was told that the drivers side lower control arm needed to be replaced. The situation has only gotten worse and the cost for repair is over $1000 for one side. Clearly with all the premature rust/wear - that is a known issue to Chrysler, it is only a matter of time before the passenger side has to be replaced. The car vibrates substantially under any braking force. Feels like the tire is going to fall off the car. Cannot be safe to drive at any rate of speed.
The air bag light comes on n off with a passenger in the seat and also the shifter sometimes doesn't shift into gear I have to unplug battery for 10 minutes to reset system that comes to the electrical situation
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 20 MPH, the drivers side front rotors, calibers, and upper ball joint suddenly fractured causing the wheel to detach from the vehicle damaging the fender, the bumper and the rear driver's side tire as well. The vehicle was towed to an unknown location. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 64,825.
