What owners report

I was stopped in traffic, and after moving off about 10 yards, the engine stalled without warning and all the power equipment stopped working. I put the vehicle in park and restarted with no problem. This problem has recurred intermittently more than 10 times since then, usually while stooped in traffic, or moving out of a parking lot. I have called Infiniti customer service, but they deny all knowledge of the problem or any responsibility for fixing it. So far, the problem exists at low speeds, but I am fearful it might happen while I am driving in fast moving traffic. I have taken the car to the mechanic a few times but it is difficult to reproduce the problem since it is intermittent.

Can not fill gas tank up to limit. Stops at 6 gallons. If I try to force more than 6 gallons, gas starts spurting out, spilling everywhere causing a hazard. Have to refill gas tank everyday. Very annoying to have to stop & get gas on a daily basis. Very inconvenient. My job entails driving to different clients on a daily basis. Depending on how many clients I have daily, I sometimes have to stop & fill gas tank with another 6 gallons before I make it to my client's house. My clients aren't too happy when I arrive late. Please help with this issue. Thank you.

I own 3 Infiniti G35's (2006, 2006, & 2007) and all 3 had this same exact problem! The fuel gauge reads a level higher than the vehicle actually has causing the cars check engine light to come on and the car runs out of gas and stalls with no notice. One time it almost caused a crash! I have replaced 2 Clusters and am now being told 3rd Infiniti cluster needs to be replaced. Obviously this is a major issue and very costly to repair amongst 06 & 07 Infiniti G35's. Please look into this!!

I am having issues with the fuel system, gas gauge doesn't read correctly, my car doesn't allow me to put in more than $2 of fuel every few minutes, I have been stranded on the road twice now because the gauge doesn't read correctly, I have replaced everything to replace and the problem still persists, This is unsafe and very unfortunate to have to deal with

2007 G35 · Feb 2022

The engine stalled with out warning while I was driving. Now the service engine soon, vdc, and slip light comes on, the engine sometimes will not start, I've also experience reduced power and hesitation. I have seen a recall for the exact same problem for my year and model, but not for my VIN.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 infinity G35. The contact stated that the fuel gauge indicated that there was no fuel in the fuel tank when the fuel tank was actually filled to capacity. The vehicle could hold up to sixteen gallons, but only allowed eight gallons. The vehicle was taken in for a diagnosis and the contact was informed that the fuel gauge was defective. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 40,557 and the current mileage was 42,000.

The fuel gauge is not reading correctly, and I have to rely on knowing my mileage and how much I last filled in my tank. I have to keep the car running longer than necessary to even duplicate the problem, and when I do the gas gauge just suddenly starts dropping. And if for some reason I even let my gas get low enough to have the low fuel lamp come on, it's almost too late and I barely make it to a gas station. I have not had the issue reproduced/confirmed by any independent servicer. I have seen in many G35 forums that this is an issue that has not had a recall yet. All of the other models for Nissan/Infiniti 2005 were recalled for the fuel sensor in 2010, but not the G35/G37 model. If this keeps happening I will eventually be involved in an accident when my gas runs out unexpectedly on the highway.

2005 G35 · Jul 2017

I have 118K miles on my vehicle. I recently have had many issues with my fuel gauge. I've read hundreds of complaints online regarding the instrument cluster and fuel gauge issues. This is very dangerous because the other day I almost lost control of my vehicle I think because it was almost out of fuel. The gas gauge read over 1/2 tank. I called the local infinitilupient and they said there were no recalls. There should be. Hundreds of people have said that this happens around 120,000. This needs to be a recall.
