What owners report
The contact owns a 2008 Infiniti G35. The contact stated that while at a complete stop, there was an abnormal popping sound as the rear-end of the vehicle lowered to the pavement upon depression of the accelerator pedal. Upon inspection of the vehicle, the contact discovered that the rear subframe was detached from the vehicle. The contact initially towed the vehicle home and then to an independent mechanic. The mechanic discovered that the rubber bushings that held the subframe was not a strong reinforcement to hold the subframe in place. The contact notified several dealers about the failure and each informed him that they were unaware of such a failure. The dealers informed him that he had to purchase an entire new subframe which could contain the same defective rubber bushings. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. …
The Suspension Subframe Crossmember (Front) Part Number: 544B2-EG300 Supersession(s): 544B2EG300 Fits Infiniti G35's (2007-2009) Have issues where it starts to rust on all areas of it . This includes the joints of the cross member and support areas. The rusting that occurs definitely impacts the structural integrity of the part and it can very well be a safety issue and a fatality waiting to occur . The cost of replacing this part may vary , as prices range from $473.00 +tax to $937.00 + tax not including labor cost that associates with the getting this unit replaced .
after being garaged for over 10 years the rear cross body member has severe rust rendering the car unsafe to drive . The rest of the body has little to no rust. I was unable to climb under the car to get better pictures but I did visually confirm while at my mechanics garage.
When taking my 2007 Infiniti G35 coupe in for service, both the tech and myself noticed a bad pop when opening the hood of the car. The tech stated that he has seen this many times with other Infiniti cars especially those that are the same model. He explained to me what was causing this issue. The hinges are corroding where they attach to the body of the car. Because of this, when the hood is opened, the torque from opening the hood is causing the hinges to bend. In addition to the hinges corroding and bending, when the hood is being opened, it is causing the entire hood to sink lower than it should which results in it damaging the fenders. The hood rubs against the fenders causing them to bend and chip. After listening to the tech, I did some research online and found that there are many people who have had this happen to them. …
Both outside and inside door handles on driver's door failed thus making door mechanism impossible to activate and driver's door impossible to open from inside or outside under any conditions. Door cannot be pushed open from inside because latch mechanism is in closed position securing door closed and handles do not work. Contacted dealer and dealer said it is probably a failed handle cable and that it is not uncommon on this model and is not covered under any recall, reimbursement, or safety program. This is a serious safety issue because the complete failure of the door latch mechanism traps the driver in the car; it is almost impossible for an adult-sized driver to get out because they cannot effectively crawl over the center console and gear shift to the passenger seat, assuming the passenger door is not blocked. …
Vehicle accelerated rapidly while coming to a stop in a slot parking space. Operators foot was on the break peddle at the time of the rapid acceleration. Vehicle then crashed into a tree and came to a complete stop. The crash caused extensive front end damage to the hood and front bumper and the energy absorbing system. The air bags did not deploy but the air bag indicator lamp is on.
My 2005 Infiniti G35 sedan's dashboard seems to be melting. I live in florida. During afternoon's, I see the dash is all shiny and sticky when touched. I get a glare when driving certain directions. I have another vehicle made by another manufacturer and in the exact same conditions, and I do not see this issue. The dealership when contacted mentioned they would not cover the repairs and that I was solely responsible for the charges which they said would amount close to $4000. The Infiniti consumer affairs when contacted, did nothing to address my concern. I am concerned whether this will pose a health-risk to me and my family. Please help resolve my issue.
