What owners report

I was stopped at a red light. When the light turned green, I stepped on the gas pedal to proceed forward. The vehicle suddenly stopped and shifted into Park on its own. The emergency brake light also came on, and the vehicle would not move. I attempted several times to shift the vehicle back into Drive, but it would not move. I continued shifting between Park and Drive and attempting to release the brake until the vehicle eventually allowed me to move. Because the vehicle would not move when the light turned green, another vehicle struck my vehicle. This created a serious safety risk because I was unable to move the vehicle when traffic began proceeding through the intersection, resulting in a collision. There were no warning lights, messages, or other symptoms before the incident. The vehicle unexpectedly did this without warning. …

2026 Odyssey · 21,000 miles · Oct 2026

I purchased a brand-new 2025 Honda Odyssey in June 2024. The vehicle currently has approximately 18,000 miles. The Auto Idle Stop system has repeatedly shut the engine off at traffic lights and failed to restart it. When this occurs, the engine does not crank, the dashboard remains illuminated, the radio and other accessories shut down, and the display instructs the driver to press the brake to start the engine. Pressing the brake and attempting to restart the vehicle does not work. The vehicle may remain disabled for several minutes before eventually restarting normally. This has happened multiple times. The vehicle has been taken to Honda dealerships twice specifically for this problem, but the technicians have been unable to duplicate the failure. On a separate oil-change visit, the battery tested low and was replaced. The restart failures have continued. …

While driving from [redacted] to [redacted], all of the safety systems started to fail. We had driven about 45 minutes from our starting point. As the system started to fail, they would flash across the screen on the dashboard saying each one that was failing. We pulled over to the side of the road, and my husband popped the hood and flames started coming out of the hood, closest to the dashboard and windshield. We called 911 and by the time they reached our location, the entire vehicle was engulfed in flames.

On the display next to the speedometer, reading the vehicle lists, the speed limit for the road you were currently driving on. The speed limit listed by the car is often wrong. When it states the speed limit is 100 mph it is obvious to the driver that it is incorrect. However, when it states the speed limit is 65 mph, but the speed limit is actually 45 mph. This causes an issue because it's very possible that the speed limit could be 65 miles an hour. I have called Honda about the issue at the corporate level and they have stated they are not aware of any problems and I have called our local dealership who claims they are very aware of these problems and that Honda does not have any way to fix this. I am concerned for my self, as well as my children, who are not very experienced drivers and are likely to trust the speed limit stated on the display of our brand new Odyssey van. …
