Mother single , sole support 4 babies and going through divorce needed a vehicle right away . Carvana rated this car 94 after its 150 pt inspection . It was noted that it was in an accident. Driving the babies on interstate the Pilar flew off, later on still on interstate , ck engine light came on, then steering warning, brake warning and sudden loss of speed . Car would not accelerate beyond 40 miles per hour . Day 32 car was taken to Honda where she found she could not open the hood. Car was then sent to Gerber A very quick look found upper tie bar was "buckled" the dipstick bent and radiator "floating" also impact bar was missing or bent ... read Gerber report for clarification , told with hood misaligned and latch bent way back hood could possibly fly up and no front end protection in a collision. I am horrified and begging for emergency swap... they are claiming cosmetic ... …
The contact owns a 2024 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the air bag warning light remained illuminated. The conversion dealer was notified of the failure and had serviced the vehicle on several occasions. The vehicle manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 700.
2024 Honda Odyssey with only 24K miles has a leak in the tailgate from bad welding in the body that is gathering water in the trunk. Safety isn't at risk but I would say that the corrosion to any electrical items are at risk which will put me and my family and others at risk of something failing. Yes the problem has been reproduced and it's a common thread on the internet. We will be taking it to the dealership to inspect since it's still under warranty. No messaging of this from the car except the fowl odor.
The contact owns a 2023 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while the vehicle was turned off, the contact pressed the tailgate release button on the tailgate, and the tailgate closed and struck the contact on the back. Medical attention was not needed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000.
The rear lift gate malfunctioned, causing my rear lift gate to get scratch from top to bottom because the lift gate would NOT STOP. I have never had issues with manually stopping the lift gate. I pushed the button and let it come up and then used force to stop it and it would not stop. I do CrossFit 5 days a week and find myself to be strong suit, I physically could not stop this lift gate. It broke two of my nails in the process because I was doing everything I could to stop the lift gate. Instead of stopping it kept going scratching up against our basketball hoop because it malfunctioned. what if this was my arm or my leg stuck in between versus an item? What if this was someone's head, including my children's head? it would have decapitated them. The amount of force of this lift gate was insane, there was absolutely no stopping it. I have an issue with this, not safe at all. …
After a heavy rain, the rear tailgate stopped working- apparently the roof seals have cracked and water leaked into the rear part of the car, and destroyed the tailgate latch and control unit. When I was driving the car for service, the rear sensor kept beeping indicating that the tailgate was not latched properly- I was afraid it would open it, so I had to drive carefully to the dealer. Now, the dealer says it a known problem on the 22 odysseys that the seals crack and leak water into the car, but its not covered by any warranty, even though when I bought the car last year, it was a honda certified warranty. Now its a $2,630.00 job to repair this. The dealer said there was significant rust due to the leaking of the seals around the latch and controller unit. here isa link that says this problem actually goes back to 2018-2024 odysseys. …
Honda has issued a Service Bulletin (SERVICE BULLETIN 22-018 [redacted] ) for the issue stating that "After powering open, the tailgate either slowly sags down or the power tailgate control unit sounds a warning tone before powering the tailgate closed" This is a danger as the liftgate closes aggressively and anyone standing under it can be hit in the head and severely injured. The force required to reverse the closure is significant and requires active attention. If one had opened the liftgate and started removing items from the trunk, as has happened to both my wife and myself, the liftgate can hit very hard. If a child is there the risk is significant. This has happened to us multiple times. This should not be a mere service bulletin which requires out of pocket cost to the consumer, but an active recall for repair
