Vehicle Make/Model/Year: 2022 Honda Odyssey Date of Incident: 5-1-25 Mileage at Incident: 30,000 Summary of Incident: While my 2022 Honda Odyssey was fully stopped in traffic with my foot firmly on the brake pedal, the vehicle unexpectedly lurched forward and struck the car in front of me. Despite this, the car surged forward from a full stop, indicating a possible failure in the brake system, electronic throttle control, or a software/ECU malfunction. This was a dangerous, uncommanded movement of the vehicle while stopped, which resulted in a minor collision. …

4,000 miles · Nov 2022

Intermittently, my 2022 Honda Odyssey with less than 16,000 miles will "stall" after the idle stop/start system is enacted. The first time it happened, I was waiting to turn left out of a parking lot onto a busy road. The idle stop kicked in, and when I went to go, my car lurched about 5 feet and the engine cut out completely requiring me to turn off the car with the push button start, restart the car, and put the car into drive. Luckily, people going both directions on the crossroad were able to go around me. This has happened probably 10 times before I was able to get it into the car dealership for service. It has no rhyme or reason for when it happens. The car dealership replaced the battery and said that it should fix the issue. When I went to leave the dealership after the "fix" the car again "stalled" as I was leaving the driveway of the dealership. …
