Check engine light came on and I started having erractic shifting, codes came back as po755, p0700, p0716, p1607. This vehicle's transmission will not shift. I have taken to numerous shops half of them say it the PCM the other say it needs a transmission replacement. I have had the shift solenoid b replaced by dealership only for them to charge me then tell me it need a transmission replacement. The vehicle will still drive forward and backward but will not shift gears at all. Losses acceleration every so often then harsely goes back into gear while in motion. RPM is very high but will still drive.

While drive the car loses power and will stall at random times cause the car to shut off, will restart right away and drive fine again can not idle for a long period of time like at a red light or stop sign cause when you accelerate you will have no power and have to try to get to side of the road so you don't get hit, took to mechanic said PCM problem that it needed a new PCM, looked up PCM problems with this car year and make and model and there is a recall but when I put my VIN in it's not one of them but my car is doing exactly as described for the recall on the 2009 Chrysler Sebring PCM recall not sure why mine is not included! The guy that owned the vehicle had this same exact problem and the car had been park since 2014 only driven if it was an emergency cause of safety concerns as the car will stall on a highway going 60mph

2009 Sebring · 118,000 miles · Jan 2020

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated that while parking the vehicle, the transmission was shifted to park(P), but after releasing the brake pedal, the vehicle rolled forward. The contact then noticed that the instrument panel indicated that the transmission was in drive(D). The contact depressed the brake pedal again, but after releasing the brake pedal, the failure recurred. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact applied the parking brake to prevent the vehicle from rolling and was able to park the vehicle; however, the transmission later became stuck in park (P). The contact used a code reader and retrieved DTC: P2004, P0700, and P0562. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. …

I have a 2008 Chrysler Sebring Sedan. The radiator is leaking fluid that splashes all over the wires causing a burning smell. I later found out that this is caused by an electrical issue with the sensors. Similarly my tire pressure sensors are fried. These issues have eroded wires causing my A/C and Cruise Control systems to malfunction. My power windows have issues sometimes I can't get them to roll up or down. My internal lights in my car flickering on and off. The mess from the radiator is also causing my engine to overheat. I am now having issues with oil pan leaks as a result of too much pressure from the engine. I see that only certain VINS were added to the recall list. I strongly suggest that NHTSA add other VINS to the recall list, especially mine, since I'm having those exact same issues. I see that there are complaints about this year make and model as recent as last year. …

The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the transmission failed to shift out of 1st gear. In addition, the contact lives in a hot climate, and the A/C was not functioning as needed. The contact stated that the hatchback occasionally failed to open unless force was used. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic where it was scanned with an OBD2 scanner and DTC Codes: P23, 06033, 2100707, and 0803806 were retrieved. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 175,000.

2007 Sebring · 175,000 miles · Apr 2024

My Chrysler Sebring's electronic throttle control light goes on for a second or 2 and then goes back off randomly. The car idles high and seem to want to stall out. The vehicle will go into limp mode when the etc light is solid and won't go more than 10-15mph. There is no check engine light and mechanic found no codes to tell what was wrong. I have been on the freeway or city streets when it will randomly go into limp mode and have to safely maneuver away from traffic as vehicle slows with no response from the gas peddle. I have read online that many other people have had this safety problem and no one seems to be able to fix it or find the source. I observed many others spending hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on different speculated parts that "May" cause this to happen. …
