My car both in both park/drive will sporadically jump in RPM's for no reason. This has happened on 40+ occasions in which the vehicle will rev from 600 RPM's up over 3500 RPM's within a second. I called Chrysler and Chrysler stated that they have not have any reports from other vehicles and gave me no solutions to this problem. My check engine light is not on. I mentioned to Chrysler that I am afraid that my car is going to one day rev while I am driving and I will not be able to control it. I am afraid that I am going to either injure myself, passengers, other motorist and/or pedestrians. I have been at many stop lights and stop signs where it has revved and moved forward even with my foot firmly on the brake. I want to report this in case something happens, I do not want to be liable for the cars actions since Chrysler does not seem to want to take my issue seriously.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Chrysler Sebring. While operating the vehicle in wet and humid conditions, the electronic throttle indicator would illuminate and the vehicle's speed would suddenly reduce to approximately 20 MPH. In addition, the brakes and power steering malfunctioned. In addition, the engine would erroneously rev very high and the accelerator pedal would lose tension and traveled to the floorboard. The vehicle was taken to several unknown local dealers, but the failures could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. Furthermore, when refueling in colder weather conditions, the fuel would spray out of the filler hole. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 10,000.

Fuse box completely shorted out and there was a burning smell. Car stalls without warning in traffic and on the highway and will not start. The car will crank but won't start leaving the vehicle disabled in the middle of traffic. The vehicle also can be parked and not start. Cranks but won't start. It has happened on more than 4 occasions 1 of the times my children were in the car and we were on the freeway. Another time I was alone on the freeway and another time I was stopped at a stoplight and it died and would not start leaving me stranded in the middle of the road in rush hour traffic. All other times have been when the car was parked. The date below is the most recent incident.

I bought my Sebring sedan in May of 2006 with 5 miles on it. For starters, I immediately had issues with the radio cutting out. I took it back to the dealership asap, and they claimed to have fixed it, but didn't. My second problem was my horn. It all of a sudden started sounding muffled, if it sounded at all. I called about that problem and they told me to bring it in. Which I would have, but over that weekend out of nowhere, my car stalled out on me without any kind of warning lights or gauges. I called a local towing company to pick it up, and they immediately told me that they could see right off the bat that I had a large hole in my oil pan, and all of the oil had probably leaked out. So I told them just to go ahead and replace it and we would go from there, thinking that would be the end of it. Unfortunately, I was wrong. …

Low power when trying to accelerate. I was told my car was getting too much fuel. I took my car into the shop because of water in my back floor board and asked them to check out the check engine light coming on and that when hooked to the a readout meter that they could find nothing other than 1 time about misfiring. When they did some rather expensive tests, I was told that my car is getting too much fuel. It feels like it just kind of bogs down at times when trying to increase the speed...you push the gas pedal and it just doesn't want to increase the speed. I was also told that this car is made to go fast and that it doesn't like going slow.
