Takata recall-my electronic throttle and throttle petal is not working. It stopped working on Monday as I was driving home. As I was driving home coming down glenwood avenue in raleigh. All of a sudden, I was not able to give gas to the car and the car slowed down almost causing an accident since we were driving at a certain speed. I had to get in the right lane and coast to the light and turned the corner to park the car to find out what was going on. I had to get my brother to drive behind me as I coast home not able to give the car gas because it was not working. My car is currently at the mechanic around the corner from my home and a diagnostic has been done on the car and I was told that I needed an electronic throttle and a throttle petal replaced. I keep everything on my car care up to date. …

On December 15, 2025, while driving my 2008 Chrysler Sebring in Indianapolis, Indiana, I noticed smoke coming from the driver's side near the battery. Shortly afterward, the car completely stopped responding - the brakes and steering were unresponsive - and the vehicle caught fire in that area. I exited the car safely, and the fire department responded and extinguished the fire. The exact cause of the fire is unknown, but I suspect a battery or electrical component failure. No warning lights appeared prior to the incident, except for the smoke I noticed. The incident has not yet been inspected by a dealer, manufacturer, or insurance representative. If inspection is needed, the affected parts can be examined in the tow lot, but much of the vehicle has been destroyed, and there is very little left of the car due to the fire. …

Engine frequently stalls while driving. I've had my car shut off while I'm driving many times, the steering wheel and brakes lock up and it makes it hard to get off the street to safety. This happens a LOT. It is very dangerous and scary. I get anxiety everytime I drive because I'm scared of it happening again. My car once turned off in the middle of a busy intersection while trying to turn. It came on after about 45 seconds but it was terrifying. Battery often dies (just replaced it). Horn would go off randomly without stopping for a long time. I had to disconnect the horn (on both sides) because it would keep randomly going off with no way to stop it. Cruise control stopped working one day. Sometimes it comes up when I press cruise control but it turns off when I try setting a speed. Drivers window broke inside, I think something snapped inside the door. …

I've had to replace the battery in this 3 times. Alternator 1. And Throttle Body Position Sensor twice. And now it's all starting to act up again. Car stalls, no reason, all dashboard warning lights flash and it stalls. No dashboard lights at night. Occasionally they flicker. Windshield wipers either won't work or won't shut off. Front windows are unusable, the track broke and back windows don't have power to make them work. Airbag and abs lights always flashing on dash and warning bell goes off all the time. Now my High beam wires have completely crumbled and radio takes 5-10 minutes to come on. Obviously a major electrical issue. I've lost my job thanks to the "reliability" of this money pit. Owned 3 years, problems began then. Today all lights are flashing, the air starts blowing high, wipers go on. I stop at light and it shuts off. Had to push off busy road. …
