What owners report

The car is constantly needs a jump start , and the pedal will not accelerate. I have had multiple diagnosis and they don't know what it is- the cruise control component comes on at the beginning of the jump start until the car runs. Auto Zone and Midas has checked the battery, alternator, did a draw and they can't find the issue. When driving the pedal will not accelerate- may have to pull over, and restart- then it works, until you disengage the car. They charged me over 30,000.00 dollars for this vehicle and I'm still paying on it and I can't even drive it because I feel unsafe, especially with the pedal. It's too cold to get up and jump start a car every morning. I'm paying 460.54 every month for a car that I don't know that's wrong with it- I purchase a warranty and though I didn't hit the mileage they said it expired because it was for three years. This should be illegal. …

I purchased my vehicle brand new in 2017 and started experiencing issues within the first year. The car has cut off multiple times while driving, without warning, in the middle of rush hour traffic. It also frequently stalls. I've taken my vehicle to 3 different dealerships in 2 different states at least 10 times. Two of the three dealerships claimed that the problem was some sort of fuse underneath the driver's seat. After the car continued to shut off without warning, I was told that it was due to low oil. I've called Chrysler's headquarters who has given me a free oil change package and instructed me to return to a dealership every 500 - 1000 miles for an oil consumption test. They know that the car is burning an unusual amount of oil which is a clear indication that there's a problem. …

On several occasions, while the vehicle has been in motion the vehicle has accelerated on its own and under different conditions with different drivers. The vehicle surges forward and the tachometer jumps over 6 RPM. On a separate occasion, while trying to merge onto a highway, the accelerator was pressed all the way to the floor but the vehicle did not respond almost resulting in an accident. The vehicle has been taken to the dealer 3 times with no clear idea from the technicians as to what is wrong with the vehicle. The first time it went to the dealership, it spent two weeks and their techs could not duplicate the problem. It was recommended that a "black box" recording device be installed in the vehicle. The device is cumbersome and a potential hazard to drivers who must try to push the button on the device while the vehicle is unintentionally accelerating. …

On 10/12/18 was driving down a busy highway just started going down a hill and my car lost power and my gear shifter starting blinking in neutral, brake pedal and gas pedal was stuck and push to start would not work for me to restart my car after a few tries I was able to get to turn off and took a couple tries to get it to turn back on. I was stalled and had cars dodging me and swerving in other lanes when they were topping the hill. I went to my dealership and they wasn't able to look at that day and told me they could probably get to it the next following week. While I was driving to the dealership to drop it off with the service department I was at a stop sign stopped with my foot on the brake and it decides to take off on it's on and I had to smash the brakes several times to make it stop in order to not hit another vehicle. …

"Takata recall" the brake doesn't work well. Sometimes its accelerate by its self. The speed when your driving in the freeway goes up and goes down by it self. You feel like there something shifting in the bottom of the car when you stop. I even crash one time when im driving on the streets because it accelerated when I press the brake. It wont stop at all.
