Control algorithm issue. Unexpected acceleration. Not confirmed by dealer. I experienced it twice. Google Gemini sems to know about this. No inspections performed. No warnings. There is a safety issue with the 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe adaptive cruise control. My observation: On a previous drive, I used the adaptive cruise control with it set at highway speed. I disengaged it as I got off the highway using the brake pedal and arrived at my destination via city streets. I turned the vehicle off, exited and locked it. Later, I re-entered the vehicle, started it and began slow speed maneuvering (<5mph) in my driveway, where in, I accidentally bumped the cruise control "Resume" switch, at which time the vehicle began to accelerate, unexpectedly. I stepped on the brake to regain control. No accident occurred. This happened a second time upon my return from the local supermarket. …
I was on the interstate. Initially I heard a faint rattling sound. I turned off the radio and AC to listen more closely; the sound was not audible. But then traffic came to a standstill. As I slowed, that barely audible noise began to sound like something boiling in the engine. The temperature and pressure gages were all in normal operating ranges. I pulled to the shoulder of the interstate and checked under the hood. I noticed a distinctive squeaking sound although the fan belt was intacted in running true. There was no sign of any fluid loss in the engine compartment or underneath the vehicle. While attempting to get to a Chevrolet Dealership one exit away, the vehicle stopped running while at a stop light. additionally, there is a recall on this vehicle for the automatic braking system. GM and the dealerships are aware of this recall yet this website states there are no recalls.
Driving in bumper to bumper traffic in my 2025 Tahoe and the automatic braking system slammed on the brakes at 10 mph causing me to get rear ended. The light turned green and traffic started moving forward and I'm hitting the gas pedal when my truck just slams on the brakes causing the girl behind to rear end me. The car in front of me was moving forward and never hit their brakes but my car still slammed on the brakes for no reason. I was probably 6 or 7 feet away from the car in front. This isn't the first time this car has slammed on the brakes for no reason. It always seems to happen in the summer during sunny mornings as I'm headed east driving towards the sun. I got lucky the other 6 or 7 times this has happened up until today
The vehicle is making a loud ticking noise which leads me to suspect this car has similar, if not the same issue as the 21-24 recalled L87 6.2 engines. I took it in the first time, they couldn't reproduce the noise but I already have video documented footage over a few days with the sound of knocking/ticking from the motor. After they did an early oil change at the same mileage I brought the vehicle in for diagnosis, the sound completely went away. A few hundred miles later the sound has come back and the engine is knocking at idle. I have another inspection/ appointment this coming week for the vehicle. Additionally, the vehicle makes loud noises from the steering column after it has been turned off. It also seems to wander when driving the vehicle and the steering wheel assists cause the wandering within lane. It is very unsafe to drive this vehicle due to these two issues.
Brake System Failure 62 MPH Top Speed Service ESC Service Brake Trailer System These warnings appeared on 04/30 and my brakes became extremely hard to use to stop my vehicle. I had my two young children in the car, I was able to go up hill and shift it into park after driving 15 minutes basically with no brakes. It was towed to Hendrick Chevrolet, where they replaced the master cylinder. On May 5th I was driving the car and the service brake assist light came on with the message. I then had it towed to Hendrick where it stayed until July 28th. The dealership stated that it was an external leak in the master cylinder. Now for the 3rd time the brakes are making a squealing noise and the service brake assist light is on again. I do not feel safe in this vehicle.
Unknown but there was many lights on at the time of brake failure. I was driving home from Florida to NJ with my four young children in the vehicle on a 65mph highway when all these lights came on, the brakes completely stopped working and it told me it was reducing speed to 62mph for safety because the brakes were failed. It also stated service svc. By the grace of god I was able to off-road it a bit to get it to slow down to a stop. The second time it happened was in my driveway parked. Inbetween the two incidents I brought my vehicle for regular service and asked them to look at the brakes again for me as this is a major safety concern as well as my transmission slipping and they complete refused and only changed my oil.
Vehicle 1 pulled out into Vehicle 2s lane and cut them off causing Vehicle 2 to slam on the breaks causing My vehicle ( Vehicle 3 ) to collide into the back of vehicle 2. No emergency breaking a-curd and no airbags deployed durring contact at rate of speed of 45-60MPH. Total damage to Vehicle 2 rear end and total damage to vehicle 3 front end.
On 12/3/2025, I moved my car in the driveway at 11:15am EST without any issue. At 6pm EST, myself and 2 young daughters got into the car to head out an hour away. As I went to drive away, I stepped on the brake and the car did not immediately stop...the brakes failed and came to a rolling stop. At that moment all types of warning and lights lit up the dashboard. I placed the car in park exactly where it was in the driveway and left it. I also tried to select the Ebrake and it would not engage. I called the dealer first thing the next morning as that had been closed at the time it happened. I was told to bring it in and not to drive it so nobody in my car or else would be at risk. The car was towed at my expense to the dealer. When I got in touch with the dealer that afternoon to get a status. …
