What owners report
The car presented steering lock column issues with repair lights on at 50 miles. Since then, they have repaired the system numerous times and replaced that system fully twice. They also replaced the manual start system and six other pieces of the car over 18 visits to two different Chevy dealerships. The car still reduces speed and stops acceleration, has electric issues in the windows, lights and gate etc.
Vehicle was around empty with 40miles remaining and would not start via keyless remote. Upon starting the vehicle all lights on the dashboard came on, this has happened previously and it fixed itself. When this happens, I have 0 brakes. Forward Collision unavailable, Service Brake Pads monitor, Service Traction Control, Service Steering Column, but most importantly Brake System Failure
While driving 70mph on the interstate, my 2022 Tahoe stopped accelerating, the engine seized, and shifted in to neutral at 52,000. I was able to coast to the side of an extremely busy interstate, right before a bridge and wait for assistance. The dealer confirmed this is a problem known to this vehicle. The engine is on backorder, even under warranty. They say an SPAC has been filed and I had to make a claim to GM to reimburse them for the starter, battery block, and battery they decided to replace first. They said it could take up to 3 months to receive a new engine and there was a waitlist for a 10day loaner car. The vehicle had just been at the dealer for a 50,000 mile check up and warranty repair. There were no other symptoms prior to this catastrophic engine failure.
Car got stuck between gears while driving on the road. The vehicle accelerated by itself almost causing me to crash. I immediately pulled over into a business and put the truck in park. The car stayed on. It turned on and off but would not shift gears. Would not go from park to reverse or drive. And unfortunately the "warranty" only cover 60k miles. Conveniently right before this well known issue goes out. The main issue was Pressure Control Solenoid C Stuck On. This issue is an issue many people are having and since it is a drivetrain issue this can affect many lives while on the road.
2 ISSUES - 1) vehicle repaired 5 times for "transmission" problem by replacing wiring harnesses. On 5th attempt, the GM factory part or the technician caused the Tahoe to catch fire. Worst part is that it happened 1 hour after test driving and parking the car at their dealership, thankfully, I would normally have driven it home and it would have destroyed my home too. GM investigated and was unable to determine cause. 2) each time the "transmission" error occurred the GM car went into what they call the "limp" mode. The car immediately loses speed control and drifts to about 35 mph until you have control of the accelerator. I was on an interstate going +70 mph to pass a semi and immediately after passing the car went into Limp Mode, the semi nearly rear ended me and then passed me blowing his horn and cursing me. …
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving and attempting to slow down to approximately 35 MPH, there was an abnormal clunking sound coming from the vehicle. The contact believed that the sound was caused by ice buildup on the mud flap, but shortly afterwards, the engine revved unexpectedly, with the check engine warning light illuminated, and the message "Reduce Acceleration - Drive with Care" was displayed. The vehicle started to coast unintendedly. The contact stated the vehicle returned to normal operation after a short while. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The mechanics pushed the vehicle out of the parking spot before inspecting the vehicle. The vehicle was diagnosed with transmission valve body failure. The contact was informed that the transmission valve body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. …
While attempting to accelerate to merge onto interstate/freeway from highway speed of 55mph, experienced significant engine misfire & loss of speed. This happened less than 40 days after purchase of this used vehicle from local dealership, with 30 day "warranty". Vehicle is currently NOT safe to drive.
Driving east on I-20 after sierra blanca checkpoint starting the incline uphill. I was on left lane, had cruise control set at 80 as per speed limit. On my right a semi just a vehicle away, at my rear another semi also on right lane. Front truck started right exit turn signal and just when he started to exit at curve, my vehicle slowed down to 52 in about 2 seconds and semi behind me switched to my lane to avoid semi exiting interstate, semi slammed on his brakes while switching to my lane, hit the horn and I could see the smoke from his tires locking up. My vehicle shifted down to second gear and sped up to 80 MPH in about 4 seconds. My vehicle detected the semi on the right lane at the curve, me not knowing if my brakes lights came on as soon as my speed dropped. Had my vehicle not sped up right away, the semi would have crashed my vehicle at the curve.

These vehicles were assembled with the throttle cable contacting the dash mat which could bind the throttle. This does not meet with the maximum return times required by federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 124, "accelerator control systems."
Remedy: Dealers will inspect for adequate throttle cable to dash mat clearance, and if there is insufficient clearance, cut out a portion of the dash mat to provide proper clearance.
