What owners report
on June 20th, 2024, my vehicle started making a vibration and roaring sound at 3k miles at speeds as low as 35 MPH and gets louder the faster you go. the steering wheel also has a vibration. The noise and vibration get worse when you turn the wheel the left but when returned back to center it stops or is quitter and less vibration. when turning to the right it does not do it at all and will sometimes it does. I have taken it to the dealer 3 times now first time they said oh it just wind noise. second time they said we found the noise but don't know what the problem is. 3-time service manager rode with me, and he pointed out the sound and I said yes that sound. They then replaced both front wheel bearings. and they told me on pick up that the noise was completely gone. 2 minutes after leaving the noise was still there and even louder. Toyota seems to not able to fix the problem. …
When using lane trace assist as part of the adaptive cruise control the vehicle will violently pull the steering wheel to the left or right out of the lane. This will occur even with vehicles in the lane it pulls to that are detected by the blind spot monitoring system. Brought to a Toyota dealership and they only verified 4 wheel alignment however this did not correct the issue.
Was driving at night going around a curve when the car jerked left sending vehicle into a spin. Hit bridge guard rail and car is a total loss. Toyota has a known issue with this LDA system in this condition. This is very dangerous system that Toyota needs to improve function.
Drove a new 2022 Toyota Camry LE with 15 miles. Notified dealer that several safety and infotainment systems were non operational. Vehicle had multiple warning light related to these systems. Notably, the Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assistance, Parking Collision Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Warning were all stated to be non-operational by the vehicle's dashboard. Several warning lights were illuminated. Furthermore, the radio and infotainment system was non-operational, which also means that the rear backup camera was non-operational. The technician at the issuing dealer stated that the "PIL" had to be replaced.
Upon driving the vehicle the steering wheel fluid light came on, the car instantly shut off and restarted 3 times repeatedly. Once it cut back on the 4th time the car began smoking from the interior. Once I exited the vehicle and popped the trunk looking for where the smoke was coming from. The car engulfed into flames. It is so badly burnt up you can't see what started the fire.
Can not turn off the lane departure warning (LDW) feature. It can only be placed at a low setting. Surging when depressing brake. Noticed this occurring when slowing pulling into the garage, was not a deal breaker as was barely moving and never got to close to hit anything else in the garage. Once it snowed this surging began happening when braking to slow down to make turns. This surging was scary, even with studded snow tires. Driving home from work one evening, it had rained and was turning to black ice; going around a slight curve on the bridge and close to the white line; the car decided to pull me away from the white line. This was the final straw, not going to allow a car to make the decision to pull on black ice or other driving conditions. I did not want to become a statistic by having this vehicle cause a car wreck and hurt myself or other drivers. …
Description of the Problem: On May 19, 2025, the steering wheel intermediate shaft or column of my 2020 Toyota Camry LE Hybrid began to malfunction. The steering became unexpectedly hard and stuck, significantly affecting my ability to safely control the vehicle. This problem occurs intermittently but poses a serious safety risk as it can happen while the vehicle is in motion, especially during turns or lane changes. The affected component is the steering column/intermediate shaft, and it is available for inspection upon request. This malfunction put my safety and the safety of others at risk, as it limited my ability to steer accurately and could potentially result in a collision, especially in emergency or high-speed situations. …
Unknown. Not sure is the alignment, or steering wheel. The issue is been reported to The insurance, body shop, and Toyota. The car is not safe on the road. And I believe it shouldn't on the road.
