What owners report
The rear windshield is blurry (has a ripple effect) when viewing from the rear view mirror, or directly at the window. At night the problem is compounded where the reflection from the headlights behind you appear as "ladder like" lines in your view in the pattern of the defroster lines. The glare and view both in the daylight and at night is completely distracting to the driver. The car was taken to the Toyota dealership where it was first believed to be a tint defect. The tint was removed and Toyota confirmed it was not the tint, but the actual rear glass was defective. They attempted to reapply the tint to be sure, but the problem still persists. They have not provided us with any options to replace the glass and have said that they were aware of complaints and that all 2024 Camry models are like this. Toyota has confirmed there is an issue with the window. …
Purchased a 2024 Camry SE with defective rear glass. Glass is uneven along the horizontal defroster lines creating a wavy effect. This greatly affects the visibility and clarity of vehicles in the rearview mirror. Vehicle was taken to the Toyota dealership and was told replacement would not be covered by warranty. My previous 2021 Camry did not have this issue and was an identical model, nor have I encountered this issue in other vehicles thus far. The lack of explanation or willingness to help from the dealership is frustrating as it is extremely annoying to deal with on a daily basis.
The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, there was an abnormal mildew odor inside the cabin of the vehicle. The contact later discovered that the front passenger's side carpet was wet from rainwater coming from the undercarriage of the vehicle. The carpets were replaced. The cause of the failure was unknown. The contact indicated that the front windshield glass had cracked on several occasions, although no objects had struck the windshield. Additionally, the Lane Departure feature had become inoperable. The cause of the failures was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 8,000. The VIN was not available.
We bought our 2023 Camry brand new off the lot and had no idea until the first rainstorm we were in that there was an issue with the wiper motor. Anytime there is moderate to hard rainfall and we turn the wipers on high they run at a low speed causing poor to no visibility. We have to pull over every time wait out the rain. We've mentioned our concern many times to the dealership where we have our Toyotas serviced and they just tell us they don't see a recall for this problem. This is incredibly dangerous and hazardous and it needs to be fixed - we just don't know how to go about it at this point.
The contact owns a 2022 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that both the driver's side and the passenger's side mirror housing covers were melting. The vehicle was taken to an unknown collision center who took pictures of the vehicle and provided an estimate of repair to the contact. Then the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the vehicle was purchased. The dealer advised the contact that the mirror housing covers were not covered under the manufacturer's warranty. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that they could not assist as the failure was due to climate. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 301. Consumer purchased Toyota Camry 2022 XSE delivered 12-6-21. Spotted Side Mirror Plastic covers melted by heating elements 1-13-22. The contact owns a 2022 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving at approximately 65 MPH, the contact attempted to open the sunroof; however, the sunroof had seized. The message "Take Vehicle for Maintenance" was displayed on the instrument panel. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the sunroof needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 46,800.
