On April [redacted] at about [redacted] a.m., upon returning from exercising at the Peter Blum YMCA in Boca Raton, I was very slowly parking my car in the garage. The car was half way in when it suddenly accelerated forwards, impacting two bicycles standing on their racks at the end of the garage, the washing machine, the dryer, the water heater and through them, the garage back wall, where cracks were created. I applied the brakes as hard as I could but the car just kept going. It finally stopped, after hitting the bicycles and the appliances. Astonished by what was happening, I put the car in park and then very carefully, I went backwards to review the damage. All of a sudden, the car accelerated backwards until it hit some bushes across the street from my house. It is a street with foot traffic by neighbors holding their small kids and dogs. Cars are usually parked on the side walk. …
I woke up to my car on fire and Toyota is saying they don't know what happened but they're also saying it wasn't their fault I've never seen a brand new car just randomly set on fire and then nobody really look for any answers I just put brand new tires on the car the day before it burnt up I'm currently behind on my car payments because of the financial strain this whole situation put me in because on top of a divorce I wasn't prepared to go and buy another car I've just stopped living in my current car and got an apartment because of the financial strain that this is caused and I wasn't given any kind of reimbursement or assistance even with the tires that I just bought I feel like Toyota knows something that they're not telling me and I deserve to be compensated
The high pressure fuel pump line suddenly ruptured at the high pressure fuel pump. This happened without warning and spewed fuel all over the engine compartment and onto the exhaust system that comes out just below the engine. It started a small fire on the engine exhaust pipe as I hurried to a mechanic across the intersection. Luckily I was able to turn off the car and avoid damage. The repair required a new high-pressure fuel pump as well as a line that runs into the pump. I kept the original parts - the mechanics state that the replacement fuel line was different than the one removed from the vehicle in the shape of the line connector to the fuel pump. I was told by Toyota that my car was NOT under recall despite there being fuel pump recalls for similar vehicles.
