The contact owed a 2012 Nissan Quest. The contact stated while shifting the vehicle into reverse, the vehicle launched forward at high speed without any warning. The contact pressed on the brake pedal, but it failed to stop the vehicle, causing the contact to loss control and drive into a ditch and crashing a tree causing the vehicle came to a complete stop. The air bags did not deploy. The contact suffered injuries to the left leg and foot and head and seek medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was deemed totally loss from the insurance company. The manufacturer was contact and stated that there was no recall for the failure and did not provide any assistance. The failure mileage was 50,000.
Have fixed myself Ac compressor kit about 97,051miles on [redacted], maf sensor, two vvt solenoids having driven it 20,000 miles in five years trying to rid light. Nov 2019 purchased at 94,719 miles. Roberts nissan of manchester, tn checked and serviced on [redacted] at 95,186 milles in excellent condition. Light will not stay off for power train system, cam timing bank, timing chains, vct camshaft timing vct, power supply circuit. Nissan did replace recall ABS actuator. Had checked Cookeville Nissan [redacted] light on and they turned off saying it checked ok after a cold start for $230. It is loud now at 114,998 miles! This auto must have defective parts since Gateway has serviced it regularly. I am concerned about driving. Talked to consumer affairs of Nissan and was told it was over 65,000 miles and not valid.
I've experienced a complete brake failure and near collision involving my family. I have sent a formal written complaint to Nissan Corporate and I need to open a safety case immediately." We were exiting the freeway when the brakes went to the floor. I tried to pump the breaks, that did not help, I dodge several cars and flew out into on coming traffic just missing two vehicles. The issue has been confirmed by Mountainview Auto Service. It has not been inspected by anyone other than Mountainview. No warning lights. We were headed out to dinner and on the freeway the traffic came to a stop and I had to use the emergency lane to stop and at that time I was able to pump the breaks, upon taking the van back home was when I experenice total break failure using only yhe emergency breaks to stop. Thuis all took place on December 27, 2025
I was approaching a red light, applying brakes, so car was going about 2mph when it suddenly began shaking and rumbling. I was on a small down hill incline. The engine just cut off and the car did not allow me to press on the brakes any longer. The car continued rolling through the red light/ intersection when I applied the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. Put car in park and attempted restarting 4 times, but it would not allow me to press my foot on the brake in order to start the car. After 4 attempts, I was able to get the car to start. Fuel indicator told me I had 33 miles to empty. I drove another 10 miles and filled the gas.
This Nissan Quest had the rear brake pads changed in December 2014. This will be the 3rd set (including the original ones when purchased) of brakes on the rear since the vehicle was purchase new at the dealer. The front brake pads are also on their 3rd set. The dealership states it is my braking habits making the pads wear out so quickly. The front brake pads wear out around 35,000- 37,000 miles. The rear brake pads last around 40,000 miles. The vehicle currently has 86,000 miles on it and was purchase new. I spoke to the dealership and informed them that if either the front or rear brake pads wear out within the same time as the previous ones had, that a Nissan representative would need to investigate. Within all my years of driving and owing vehicles I have never had to replace brakes like I have on this vehicle.
Went on a road trip. Our new Nissan Quest 2009 was fine until after 4 hours of driving and then suddenly the steering wheel started to shake. It shook so badly that we thought we had a flat tire. It continued to shake until we pulled over to the shoulder and come to a complete stop. We went back on the highway and it was fine for a couple of hours and then acted up again. The same thing happened. It won't let us accelerate and no matter how slow we go it was still shaking. We had an infant in the van and our other son was 5 yrs. Very dangerous to be on the road in the middle of the night and having to pull over every couple of hours when it started acting up. Imagine when there are no shoulders to pull over and the van was shaking so bad that you can't control it. Please recall this item. Something is wrong with the brake system/rotors etc.
I backed out of driveway towards the south to head north on public way. Vehicle immediately started accelerating backwards (south) without assistance, quickly getting out of control. No amount of pressure on my part would make the brakes work and there was no control of the steering. The vehicle was no longer under my control and crashed backwards into a large tree which held it from crashing farther, and a small tree on the side which held it from rolling down into a brook. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and I would prefer that it be inspected. No vehicles or pedestrians were in the street when the vehicle lost all control without human assistance. The passenger is front passenger seat was taken to ER and has since been seeing a doctor. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or other service center. …
I was parking and barely moving with my foot in the brake when the vehicle suddenly reved up loudly. I had to depress the brake heavily to keep it from moving forward and put it in neutral. The vehicle continued to rev hard until I turned off the engine.
