While driving vehicle at 30 MPH consumer pressed brake pedal and heard a loud popping sound. Brake pedal went to the floor, but vehicle would not stop until it came to rest on another vehicle. Dealer informed the consumer that the brake master cylinder blew off the brake booster.
My wife was driving our 1999 Nissan Quest on the interstate the first time the driver front brake locked up. She drove the vehicle to stones river Nissan of murfreesboro, tn where they replaced the brake calipers, hoses, rotors, and pads. The brake pads wore out after only 8K miles. Took the vehicle to a different shop to have a tire repaired and the pads replaced and the driver's front locked up again on the technician while road testing his repair. This shop insisted on replacing the driver front brake hose despite knowing it was relatively new. This did not work & they replaced the brake caliper (again) and gave up after it locked up yet again. They towed it to sr Nissan, who diagnosed a bad master cylinder & replaced it. Driver front brake still locked up at the shop, now diagnosing bad ABS actuator they say was caused by the seals inside the mc deteriorating. …
Tl contact owns a 1999 Nissan Quest. While driving 70 MPH, the front driver's side brakes locked up. The contact had a difficult time controlling the vehicle, but managed to drive to the dealer. The dealer stated that the brake hose was the cause of the failure and the braking components overheated. The dealer suggested that the rotors, pads, caliper, and hose on both sides of the vehicle be replaced. The repairs were made, but the failure recurred 8,000 miles later. He took the vehicle to a repair shop and they replaced the pads and turned the rotors. The mechanic test drove the vehicle and the driver's side brakes locked up again. The dealer replaced all the components again and recharged the contact over $300. The dealer currently states that the ABS actuator needs to be replaced. The failure mileage was 108,000.

The vehicle was towed to the dealer who stated that the vehicle speed control sensor failed. The dealer also stated that the brake system needed to be repaired. The estimated repair cost was $875. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer stated that they would not assist with the repair since the warranty had expired. The current and failure mileages were 78,000.
Vehicle was parked and without warning, caught on fire. Vehicle was totaled. Firefighters stated that fire was caused by friction from brake lines. Dealership found no evidence of defect. Consumer stated that before the fire there was a burning smell in the brake lines. Dealership advised that this was normal. Consumer is requesting vehicle be replaced, however dealership is not willing to do anything.
Where to start.... Brakes; 65,000 miles and we're on the 4th set (we've replaced them 3 times)! Efi... Every 25,000 miles the throttle sticks and yes, we joined the class action. And the latest? The crossover pipe on the exhaust system broke, filling the cabin with exhaust... Engine parts should last longer.
Front brakes made a loud grinding noise when they were depressed. When this occurred the brakes ate the rotors. This was caused by the caliper sticking and not releasing. Dealership replaced rotors/calipers, but the problem recurred. TSB 613461 dealt with this problem.
I started having problems with the brakes and the air conditioner around the same time frame give or take a few weeks. The brakes started making a grinding noise when it was about two months old. I took it to the dealer the said they did a complete brake job on it. Since then it has been back to the dealer 5 other times due to brake noises that are still not repaired. My van also vibrates at speedso f 60 miles or faster, also it has had 3 front end alignments in less then six months. Then with my air conditioner they say the noise was normal that it was suppose to sound like it was going to fall out in the driveway when I turned it on, and when Nissan came out with a fix they would contact me. To this day they have not even looked at the air conditioner other then to check the belts on it. Both my brake and my air conditioner are still making noises. …
Accelerator would stick and not allow me to press it down. This would occur as after stopping at a light or intersection. The pedal would not budge, thus causing me to pump it to try to wiggle it to move. When it did catch, it would accelerte abruptly. Many times I was in intersection and almost hit front behind or side becuase the van would not move. Also, at the 30,000 mile maintenance, I was told that there was less than 10% left on front brakes. This is premature as most cars do not need brake pads changed so quickly.
Brakes did not work properly. When consumer first purchased vehicle he had problems. Consuemr took vehicle back to dealer to get it fixed. And then 14,000 miles later, brakes went out . Dealer did not have a remedy. Complete brake job was done twice at 14000 miles interval. The brakes on this vehicle were not properly designed. The consumer was concerned about the safety as well as the expenses.
