In April 2011, my Jeep went in for service at herb chambers. There were safety recalls that needed to be fixed and I expressed my concern to the service associate about my parking brake being loose and not properly adjusted. When I returned to the dealership the diagnosis I received from the service associate was that a massachusetts registered safety inspector examined my parking brake and it was functioning properly. In May 2011, approximately a month after my vehicle was in for service, I parked my vehicle in its parking spot at my house and when I returned to my vehicle five minutes later it had rolled into the woods. When the Jeep rolled into the woods it hit three trees resulting in the rear passenger side fender ripping off. When I contacted customer service at Jeep they stated I needed to file a claim through my insurance company and there was nothing they could assist me with. …
Tl contact owns a 2010 Jeep Wrangler. While attempting to use the navigation system, the contact noticed major highways and old public buildings did not appear. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where it was repaired. The failure continued. The contact called the manufacturer who stated that the failure was common. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 10 and the current mileage was approximately 8,000.
The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Wrangler equipped with Powerstop Brake Hoses, Part Number: (N/A). The contact stated that after installing the brake hoses to the rear driver's and passenger's side brake assemblies, there was smoke coming from the rear driver's side brake rotors while operating the vehicle due to brake fluid leaking from the hose. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The contact was informed of the NHTSA Campaign Number: 24E053000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was not provided.
On my 2008 Jeep Wrangler (lhd) dashboard, the airbag warning light flashes on every other minute with a chime, an indication that there is something malfunctioning or interfering with the vehicle's airbags.this has been a recurring issue and concern for many 2008 Jeep Wrangler (lhd) owners, including myself, and has been shown time and time again to be caused by a faulty clockspring within the vehicle's steering wheel. This faulty clockspring is the culprit for potential airbag failure in the 2008 Jeep Wrangler (lhd) during an accident or premature deployment when simply driving around. Daimler Chrysler has refused to address the safety concern of their faulty clockspring that can cause failure of the vehicle's airbags from properly deploying." right hand vehicles have been recalled but not the left like I drive.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the class 3 trailer hitch underneath the vehicle detached while driving 20 MPH. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and used ratchet straps to support the bottom portion of the hitch to resume driving. The class 3 hitch was not replaced. The salesperson where the product was purchased called the manufacturer on the contact's behalf and was informed that the class 3 hitch was out of one year warranty. The manufacturer could only offer a percentage off of another purchase. In addition, the manufacturer informed the salesperson that the hitch was part of the bumper; therefore, the one hitch applied to both. The approximate failure mileage was 73,000.
In July of 2008 I experienced what Jeep owners are calling "the death wobble" in my 2007 Wrangler. While passing a car I hit a small bump in the road and my whole front end of my Jeep began to shake violently and I was unable to control the vehicle. The Jeep was brought into the dealership where they replaced the steering damper(covered under warranty). On feb 9th 2009 while driving south on the garden state parkway at approximately 65 to 70 MPH I again hit a small bump and the Jeep began to shake violently and I could not control the vehicle. I took the vehicle out of gear and came to a slow stop. Then I noticed a state trooper behind me. When I finally managed to get to the shoulder he exited his vehicle and approach my drivers side window and asked if I was OK and stated that he never had seen a vehicle ever act like that, that he thought the wheels were going to fall off. …
Driving Wrangler at 50 MPH when the front end began to shake violently. This was very traumatic, I had to pull off the road. When I searched the internet, I found that this has been a recurring problem among Jeep owners. Dealership didn't seem to know about problem. Dealer stated that the steering damper and stabilizer bar went bad. Of course these items were not covered by warranty. Jeep needs to acknowledge problem and fix it. Someone is going to die from this. Please google "death wobble"happened to my wife and children. Will not take kids in this vehicle.
I wish to complain about the seat belt malfunction in my 2005 Jeep Wrangler tj. With only 16000 miles the right passenger seat belt would not retract anymore and it appears that the plastic spacers came apart. I replaced the entire assembly to the cost of $325.00 for a new belt assembly. If my Jeep belt is defective are there many other complaints about the Jeep seat belts?
