The airbag light is on and after taking it to the mechanic, I was informed that it will not release in the event of an accident. I searched for a recall as the mechanic suggested and found nothing. Since I have never been in an accident that would set the airbag off, I do not understand why the light is on. The lights on the dashboard, interior lights, autostart, heated seats, rear sensors, and anti skid have all stopped working. Although my car is 9 years old, it has less than 60,000 miles and is well cared for. The mechanic has informed me that I have a faulty board. Faulty sounds like something Jeep should be paying for not me. Bubbling of paint on the hood of the truck and its spreading. Again, all these issues should be covered by Jeep. These issues are the result of poor or faulty manufacturing processes and should not be visited upon the consumer.
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 Jeep Commander. While driving at approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate. The contact mentioned that water entered the vehicle and caused the floorboard to become wet. As a result, there was a mildew odor and water stains. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000.
The sunroof on my 2008 Jeep Commander leaks profusely, even in mundane conditions like a rain sprinkle or carwash. Throughout the year, whenever there is a rain downpour, water leaks through the sunroof and side posts to the point that water is sloshing and splashing around as I drive, and splashes up on me when I stop. Through online research, I've learned that Chrysler refuses to address and correct the faulty drainage tubes causing the leaky sunroofs, nor does Chrysler honor warranty claims for these sunroofs despite issuing at least 7 Technical Service Bulletins about its vehicles' faulty drainage tubes and leaking sunroofs between 1999 and 2010, the class action lawsuit says. I am now having to spend hundreds, if not thousands, to have the sunroof and side post drainage channels repaired. Thousands of other Jeep owners have had this same issue. …
Leaking water through side driver handle also carpets soaked when rains. Has been happening through the years. Safety issue now I believe is affecting my electical in door panel. Passenger door window will not work from drivers side.now leaking from light fixture. Will it affect any other electrical in the future? When Jeep was new door hinge was replaced rusted out. Need it done again. This is not normal maintenance to replace hinges. The door sounds like its going to crack in half when opening and closing. Wouldnt be suprised if it fell off. Its the same side as the leaks. Im putting todays date because its all the time. Also ive read there is a class action suit for the sunroof. But not vehicles before 2009? All recalls and suits match my situations but my VIN # doesnt come up?? Not right at all. There are so many flaws in this Jeep but what im complaining about is serious.
While driving at night I thought I could hear a scraping noise. I promptly rolled down my window and continued to accelerate slowly. I didn't hear the noise so proceeded home. A few miles later I pulled into my drive and a police officer pulled up to tell me metal was loose under my vehicle and shooting sparks out of the rear. The next morning I checked and a large piece of rusted metal was hanging by a thread so I removed it. I made an appointment to have the vehicle inspected and was shown that 2 of the 3 straps holding my gas tank in place were completely gone and the third is broken and rusted through. My vehicle is unsafe to drive and I had no idea. I looked to see if this was a recall issue and it is not. I searched to see if this is a common problem and found that it is extremely common across the entire Jeep line. …

Takata recall as I was driving my car on the four lane my car started to have white rubber smelling smoke fill the car and all my dash lights went crazy, my radio kicked off and my speakers and my turn signals quit working. I started to panic and stopped on the side of the rode. I had my kids in the car so I first removed my children then tried to find the problem. At this point my car was completely full of smoke n it like as if it was burning down. My wiring in the cars passenger side rear floor board had caught on fire ! The fire burnt through my floor and my floor mats. I almost choked to death on the smoke and had to take the battery out of the car to kill the power and dump water on the floor.
